Spinny Cup 2026: Ireland Ends India’s Historic 16-Consecutive T20 Series Winning Streak. They defeated Team India by 1 runs in the 2nd and final T20I game and won the series by 2-0 at Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

2nd T20I (India Vs Ireland)
Game Date: 28th June 2026
Details:
Team India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 2nd and final game against Ireland at Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast. Two changes for India and debutants Prince Yadav and Suryansh Shedge are playing in the place of Prasidh Krishna and Washington Sundar. No changes for Ireland.

Ireland scored 154/8 in their 20 overs after batting first. That’s an excellent recovery from Ireland after a shaky start, but they still look 15-20 runs short of a competitive total. They were reeling at 58/3 at the halfway mark, having once again lost a couple of wickets inside the powerplay. Harry Tector held the innings together while Benjamin Calitz injected momentum with a brisk 23-ball 37. The pair stitched together a 50-plus stand and looked set to push Ireland beyond 170 before Shivam Dube struck twice in two balls to halt the charge. Tector carried on bringing up a well-made fifty and helped Ireland finish on 154/8. Debutant Prince Yadav impressed with figures of 3/22 from his four overs, while Dube and Arshdeep Singh picked up two wickets apiece. This should be a straightforward chase for India, but after what unfolded in the series opener, Ireland certainly can’t be ruled out. Harry Tector scored 53 runs of 47 balls and Benjamin Calitz scored 37 runs in 23 balls. For Team India, debutant Prince Yadav picked 3 wickets for 22 runs in his 4 overs.

Team India unable to chase the target and scored 153/9 in 20 overs and lost the game by just 1 run and series by 0-2. What a win! The Ireland players make their way around the ground to thank the supporters before being embraced by the support staff. June 28, 2026 will go down as one of the greatest days in Irish cricket history. They’ve not only beaten the reigning T20 World Champions but also snapped India’s 16-series winning streak in T20Is. Ireland were the better side across the two matches. They understood the conditions better, their batters put runs on the board and the bowlers backed it up with disciplined performances. Their fielding was outstanding as well, and they outplayed India in all three departments. What’s even more remarkable is that they achieved this without several first-choice players, including Mark Adair, Curtis Campher, Paul Stirling and Joshua Little. A truly memorable series victory for the hosts. India’s chase unravelled right at the start as both openers, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, fell for golden ducks in the very first over. Jai Moondra landed the early blows and added another prized wicket by cleaning up Shreyas Iyer. Ishan Kishan’s run-out, courtesy of a direct hit from Ross Adair, left India in deep trouble. Tilak Varma and Axar Patel then attempted to rebuild with useful partnerships of over 30 for the fifth and sixth wickets, with Tilak anchoring the chase. He looked set to take India home but fell soon after bringing up a fighting fifty. With 35 needed off the last two overs, Harshit Rana sparked late hope with a flurry of boundaries, reducing the equation to 8 off the final 2 balls. But he holed out to a full toss off the penultimate delivery, effectively sealing a famous victory for Ireland. The hosts were outstanding with the ball throughout. Jai Moondra set the tone with his opening burst and was superbly supported by Matthew Hollard and Liam McCarthy through the middle overs, while Matthew Humphreys and Harry Tector also played their parts. Tector, entrusted with defending 20 in the final over, rode his luck a little and closed out one of Ireland’s most memorable wins. Tilak Varma scored 55 runs of 46 balls and Harshit Rana score 21 runs of 10 balls. For Ireland, Jai Moondra & Matthew Hollard picked 3 wickets each.
