India clean sweeps Afghanistan in ODIs-cricketmovie.com

IDFC First Bank ODI Series 2026: First ever series win for Shubman Gill. They have defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets in the 3rd final ODI and clean sweeps by 3-0 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Now I will share the details of this ODI game match in my way.

3rd ODI (India Vs Afghanistan)
Game Date: 20th June 2026
Details:
Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and elected to bat first in the 3rd and final ODI game of against Team India at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Afghanistan bowled out for 218 runs in their 44.2 overs after batting first. From 36/4 to a total of 218. It may not be enough to test India, but you have to admire the heart shown by the Afghanistan captain who battled it out for a maiden ODI hundred. His partnership of 105 with Azmatullah Omarzai actually got the innings back on track, only to fall apart again, losing the last five wickets for just 20 runs. India had a standout performance from Prasidh Krishna who took 4/6 in his first five overs. It was a sensational display of fast bowling on a pitch with plenty of pace and bounce along with some lateral movement early on. Almost looked like an Australian pitch the way it behaved. Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 102 runs of 131 balls and Azmatullah Omarzai scored 50 runs in 56 balls. For Team India, Prasidh Krishna picked 5 wickets for 23 runs in his 8.2 overs.

Team India chased down the target by scoring 224/1 in 28.4 overs and won the match and series. Another ruthless performance from India as they seal the series 3-0. They’ve blown Afghanistan away on a pitch with some pace and bounce here in Chennai, set up by a sensational bowling display from Prasidh Krishna who claimed his maiden ODI five-for. The run-chase was never in doubt, and it was made even sweeter by Yashasvi Jaiswal cruising to his second ODI hundred. Rohit Sharma filled his boots as well after getting dropped early in the innings. He played some really eye-catching shots, especially against Rashid Khan before getting dismissed on 78. Afghanistan again wasn’t up to scratch. If not for that battling hundred from captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, they would’ve gone absolutely nowhere today. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 110* runs of 86 balls and Rohit Sharma score 79 runs of 69 balls. For Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi picked the only fallen wicket.
