IDFC First Bank T20I Series 2023: Team India seal the series against Afghanistan with one more game to go. They won the 2nd T20I by 6 wickets at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. Now I will share the details of this game match in my way.

2nd T20I (India Vs Afghanistan)
Game Date: 14th January 2024
Details:
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma again won the toss and elected to field first in the 2nd game of T20I series against Afghanistan at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. Virat Kohli & Yashasvi Jaiswal is playing today in the place of Tilak Varma and Shubman Gill.

Afghanistan bowled out for 172 in their 20 overs after batting first. This is their highest T20I score against India but I don’t think it is going to be enough on this pitch with those dimensions. The openers started brightly, and it needed the early introduction of Ravi Bishnoi to break the partnership. Gulbadin Naib came out to bat at 3, and he counter attacked from the start. A powerful innings of 57 which included 5 fours and 4 sixes put Afghanistan in a good position near the halfway stage. However, Axar returned and picked up the wicket of the all-rounder in his last over. Things slowed down after that as the new batters couldn’t quite find their footing. The visitors needed a late dash from Mujeeb to get to this score, or they could have bundled out much earlier. For India, it was another impressive outing for Axar Patel, and Bishnoi was a tad expensive but picked up two crucial wickets. Arshdeep augmented his death overs credentials by ending with 3/32 after going wicketless in the first spell. Gulbadin Naib scored 57 runs of 35 balls and Najibullah Zadran scored 23 runs of 21 balls. For Team India, Arshdeep Singh picked 3 wickets for 32 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Team India chased the target successfully by scoring 173/4 in their 15.4 overs. So India seal the game with overs to go. Despite losing skipper Rohit Sharma for a duck, the hosts never broke a sweat in this chase. Kohli played overly aggressive, playing a few proper slogs as he scored a brisk 29 before falling to Naveen-ul-Haq. Jaiswal on the other end though stayed busy throughout his innings, always looking for the aggressive option. He attacked Mujeeb and Noor Ahmed, getting to a 27 ball fifty. At the other end was the spin basher Shivam Dube who took down an experienced campaigner like Nabi for three consecutive sixes, and then there was no turning back. Another impressive knock from the southpaw, as he notched up a 22-ball fifty and stayed till the end to help his team cross the line. Karim Janat came on and stalled the end by picking two in his first over, but the result was never in doubt. India take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 68 of 34 balls and Shivam Dube scored 63* runs of 32 balls. For Afghanistan, Karim Janat picked 2 wickets 13 runs in his 2 overs.
