England scored 351/7 in their 50 overs after batting first. A strong recovery from India, who have managed to put up a formidable total on the board. While a bigger score was chased down in the previous match, India’s familiarity with bowling in these conditions gives them a chance to put the opposition batters under pressure. India’s innings got off to a shaky start with the early dismissals of Gill and Kohli, but Rohit Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad steadied the innings with a crucial partnership, helping India regain momentum and set up a competitive total. Ruturaj Gaikwad was given several lives in the innings, with the batter being dropped around four times. He made the most of those opportunities, going on to bring up a crucial half-century, and Rohit Sharma unfortunately missed out on a ton as he was dismissed in the 90s. Naman Dhir chipped in with a useful contribution and was involved in a crucial partnership, but it was KL Rahul’s magnificent knock of 129 that helped India get past the 350-run mark. West Indies were far from their best in the field, with several dropped catches proving costly. They will now hope those missed opportunities don’t come back to haunt them as the game progresses. KL Rahul scored 129* runs of 87 balls and Rohit Sharma scored 92 runs in 85 balls. For Team India, Jayden Seales picked 3 wickets for 62 runs in his 10 overs quota.

West Indies chase down the target and by scoring 352/5 in 48.2 overs and won the game by 5 wickets but lost series by 1-2. Record run-chase for West Indies, thanks to Shai Hope’s incredible knock. In reply to India’s 357, they lost the in-form John Campbell cheaply, with Siraj striking in the powerplay. That brought the other two centurions from the previous game together. Although there were a few plays and misses in the first powerplay, Shai Hope and Amir Jangoo batted at a good tempo and forged a century stand for the second wicket. Just when it looked like India ran out of ideas, a run-out resulted in Jangoo getting out. Hope was involved in two back-to-back fifty stands after that. First with Sherfane Rutherford, who was wrongly adjudged caught behind even though he reviewed. And then with Keemo Paul. That was a key partnership. Hope was struggling a bit and Paul became the aggressor to keep the asking rate under check. West Indies, who were ahead of the rate till the 40th over, lost a bit of momentum after Paul’s downfall. With 56 needed off the last 5 overs, Hope once again pressed on the accelerator. He went after Kuldeep in the 46th over with a six and a four, hit back-to-back boundaries against Brar in the following over and then the 48th over almost sealed the deal for West Indies as Anshul Kamboj leaked 22 runs. Motie played his part as well as the unbeaten 62-run stand for the sixth wicket took WI home with 10 balls to spare. Skipper Shai Hope scored 162* runs of 143 balls and Amir Jangoo score 67 runs of 56 balls. For Team India, Siraj, Dhir, Brar and Kuldeep Yadav picked 1 wicket each.
