IDFC First Bank T20I Series 2023: Team India whitewashed Afghanistan after winning the 3rd T20I in the 2nd super over at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Now I will share the details of this game match in my way.

3rd T20I (India Vs Afghanistan)
Game Date: 17th January 2024
Details:
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma again won the toss and elected to bat first in the 3rd & final game of T20I series against Afghanistan at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Sanju Samson, Kuldeep Yadav & Avesh Khan is playing today in the place of Jitesh Sharma, Axar Patel & Arshdeep Singh.

Team India scored 212/4 in their 20 overs after batting first. The leather hunt has ended for Afghanistan. Even the best of soothsayers would have failed to narrate an ending like this for India. India were tottering. They were a wicket away from a meek surrender. But Rohit and Rinku had other ideas. Rohit continued to bat aggressively and Rinku was a little judicious at the start. They kept adding the runs one by one and kept dragging the partnership. India were 61 for 4 at the half-way mark. But then both of them exploded and India have managed to breach the 200 mark. Along the way, Rohit became the first man on the planet to score 5 T20I tons. Rinku might have been overshadowed a bit but his reputation as a finisher just went one notch higher. His 69 off 39 balls belonged to a high pedigree. India now have 212 to play with. Afghanistan will have to do really well to avoid being clean swept. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 121* runs of 69 balls and Rinku Singh scored 69* runs of 39 balls. For Afghanistan, Fareed Ahmad picked 3 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Afghanistan tied the game by scoring 212/6 in their 15.4 overs. This is some cricket – 424 runs from 40 overs and we haven’t got a clear winner. But credit to Gulbadin, his 23-ball 55* was electric and it jolted India into submission. At one stage, India looked clear cut winners, despite a 93-run opening partnership. Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran set-up the platform, but their efforts seemed to be wasted when they slipped to 107 for 3. But Nabi provided the nitro-boost with a 16-ball 34 and then Naib took over, boundaries kept flowing with the batters happy to chance their arms. It all boiled down to the final two overs with 36 needed, Avesh went for 17 in the 19th and Mukesh conceded 18 in the final over. Having been outclassed in the first couple of games, Afghanistan will be mighty proud of their efforts so far, but can they add the icing on the cake by winning the super over? For India, Washington Sundar finished with 3 for 18 from three overs, but the others took a beating. Gulbadin Naib scored 55* of 23 balls and Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 50 runs of 32 balls. For Team India, Washington Sundar picked 3 wickets 18 runs in his 3 overs.
