Team India scored 191/8 in their 20 overs after batting first. They will feel they have let 20 runs go here. When Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer were batting, 220 was on the cards. At the halfway stage, they were 111/2. The openers went cheaply but then Ishan and Shreyas launched a fine counterattack hitting Michael Bracewell out of the attack with a 27-run over. The pitch was holding up and skiddy which was used well by Nathan Smith as he brought his side back into the game with the wickets of Shreyas and Tilak. Once again Naman Dhir played superbly after getting a life. His effort could still prove to be crucial if India get home in a close finish. New Zealand dropped sitters and they would be disappointed with that. Tickner and Milne giving chances to Shreyas and Naman respectively. 191 should be chaseable but this pitch isn’t straightforward and India have Varun tonight. Ishan Kishan scored 61 runs of 32 balls and skipper Shreyas Iyer scored 50 runs in 23 balls. For Team India, Adam Milne picked 4 wickets for 19 runs in his 4 overs quota.

New Zealand chase down the target and by scoring 195/3 in 18 overs and won the game by 7 wickets but lost series by 2-3. India lost momentum in the back half of the innings and never quite recovered. With the ball, they had to pick up at least 2-3 wickets in the powerplay, but they found it tough to stop the local boy Tim Seifert, who was dropped on 13 by Naman Dhir. There were similarities between the way both teams went about the proceedings in the first 10 overs, but the back 10 proved to be a major difference. Seifert had a 73-run stand with Mitchell after the early fall of Allen, and then a 86-run partnership with Phillips for the third wicket all but sealed the deal for the Kiwis. The visitors just didn’t have enough runs on the board and also had to contain with extremely cool weather at Seddon Park. There was a brief period between 4-10 overs in the first innings where a brief spell of very fine drizzle helped India gain momentum and find rhythm, but things went downhill after the wicket of Ishan Kishan. Seifert had a very poor series thus far with the bat and it was his day today where he put up a clinic of range hitting, most notably the sixes that he hit down the ground left plenty in awe. Not the ideal start, but surely New Zealand will take the results in the last 2 games, winning both quite convincingly. Tim Seifert scored 93 runs of 50 balls and Glenn Phillips score 65* runs of 38 balls. For Team India, Arshdeep, Nitish Reddy and Varun picked 1 wicket each.
A spirited finish from New Zealand as they claim the final match and narrow the T20I series margin to 3-2 against India 👏📝: https://t.co/UM9iULA5D1 https://t.co/9UCCRC4ntQ
