Team India scored huge 253/7 in their 20 overs after batting first. With a superb batting effort, India will believe they have enough runs on the board. A placid red-soil wicket at the Wankhede laid out an absolute beauty. India lost Abhishek Sharma early, but Sanju Samson continued the form that saw him take India to the semis. He was reprieved early though, on 15, and he made England pay. It was a sitter and somehow Harry Brook lost sight of the ball, tried to grab it, and saw it falling down. Samson then went on a roll and received strong support from Ishan Kishan (18-ball 39) and Shivam Dube (25-ball 43). Even after his dismissal, India kept going and found cameos right through the batting order. England was slightly sloppy with their catching and ground fielding while the bowlers failed to settle on a plan. West Indies scored 254 in the Super Eight game against Zimbabwe and won easily. This is a knockout game and the pressure will be on them if they’re to make it to Ahmedabad. Has India batted them out of the contest? We’ll know shortly. Sanju Samson scored 89 runs of 42 balls and Shivam Dube scored 43 runs of 25 balls. For England, Will Jacks and Adil Rashid picked 2 wickets each..

England failed chase the target and scored 246/7 runs in their 20 overs and lost the game by just 7 runs and its Team Indiw who qualify for the finals. Phew that got a lot closer than you would’ve thought after India smashed 253 in the first innings. England made them sweat properly in the sweltering heat of Mumbai with Jacob Bethell playing a knock to remember. With 69 needed off the last five overs, the game was right in the balance on a belter of a pitch that offered absolutely nothing to the bowlers. A situation calling out for someone to grab the game by the scruff of its neck. And who else was it going to be, other than that man who simply doesn’t miss. Yorker after yorker after yorker. His two remaining overs went for a mere 14 runs with England deciding to play him off rather than taking too many risks. It left them with way too much to do, and if they were hoping to compensate against Arshdeep and Hardik, that wasn’t the case as both of them stepped up as well. Hardik deserves a lot of credit, started off brilliantly with the new ball, swinging it sharply and then closed the game at the death as well. And what about the catching from Axar. For England, Jacob Bethell scored 105 runs in 48 balls and Will Jacks scored 35 runs in 20 balls. For Team India, Hardik Pandya picked 2 wickets for 38 runs in his 4 overs quota.
