Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored huge 254/5 in their 20 overs after batting first. This is a monstrous score and RCB will now be firm favourites towards making back-to-back IPL finals. 254 is their score, which is the highest in a playoff game. RCB’s dug-out is chuffed to bits and it’s the reverse in the GT camp – they were poor in the field, didn’t execute well with the ball and the missed chances cost them plenty. None more than Patidar who made the most of being dropped on 20. The RCB skipper then went into overdrive, finding boundaries at will and punishing anything in his arc. But it all started with the top-order and their fiery contributions: Kohli got 43, Padikkal 30 and Venky Iyer 19, setting the stage for a big finish. Jason Holder’s 2-wicket burst in the 9th over threatened them, but Patidar-Krunal then stole the show with some raucous hitting. None of the bowlers were spared and the Titans will need something magical to pull off a win tonight. Skipper Rajat Patidar scored 93* runs of 33 balls and Virat Kohli scored 43 runs in 25 balls. For Gujarat Titans, Kagiso Rabada & Jason Holder picked 2 wickets each.

Punjab Kings unable to chase the target and scored 162 in 19.3 overs and lost the game by 92 runs. A dominant performance from Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Just Net Run Rate separated these two teams at the end of the group stage. But Qualifier 1 turned out to be a one-sided encounter. RCB were inserted to bat and Venkatesh Iyer played a nice little cameo at the start. That was followed by a 72-run stand between Kohli and Padikkal who batted at a good tempo. Holder removed both of them in the same over. Just when it seemed like GT could make a comeback, Rajat Patidar blew them away. After getting a reprieve on 20, the RCB captain made the Titans pay with a fantabulous 93* off just 33 deliveries. RCB posted a mammoth 254 and got off to a perfect start with the ball as they removed GT’s top three inside 5 overs. Sai fell in an unlucky manner, Bhuvi accounted for Gill and Hazlewood cleaned up Buttler after conceding 14 runs off the 3 previous deliveries. Rasikh Salam Dar bowled a double wicket maiden to further reduce the Titans to 51/5, which quickly became 88/8. Rahul Tewatia, GT’s Impact Player, recorded his second IPL fifty by hitting most of his boundaries behind square on the leg-side but that knock only helped in reducing the margin of defeat. Rahul Tewatia scored 68 runs of 43 balls and Jos Buttler score 29 runs of 11 balls. For Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Jacob Duffy picked 3 wickets for 39 runs in his 4 overs quota.
