T20 World Cup 2026: Comprehensive win for Team India against Zimbabwe in their 2nd Super 8 game at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Now I will share the details of this game match in my way.

Super 8 (India Vs Zimbabwe)
Game Date: 26th February 2026
Details:
Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza won the toss and elected to field first Super 8 game against Team India at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Two changes in Indian Team and Axar Patel and Sanju Samson are playing toda in the place of Washington Sundar and Rinku Singh.

Team India scored huge 256/4 in their 20 overs after batting first. Raza thought the pitch had moisture which would help his seamers as he opted to bowl, but they were taken to the cleaners right from the start. The change with Samson at the top probably prevented Zimbabwe from using off spin with the new ball. He also made a brisk 25 to get things going and India never looked back from there. Abhishek, Ishan Kishan, Surya, Hardik and Tilak they all lined up for the feast and the poor bowlers suffered. The tactical call of playing an extra seamer didn’t come off for Zimbabwe either with Maposa going for 40 in his two overs. What can their batters come up with in response. Abhishek Sharma scored 44 runs of 30 balls and Hardik Pandya scored 50* runs of 23 balls. For Zimbabwe, Ngarava, Muzarabani, Raza and Maposa picked 1 wicket each.

Zimbabwe failed to chase the target and scored 184/6 runs in 20 overs and lost the game by 72 runs. Comfortable win for India. Their campaign is back on track. Once they put up such a big score, only one result was possible. But credit to Brian Bennett for not allowing the game to become one-sided. Marumani struggled early and the chase got some momentum when Raza joined Bennett. The asking rate at the same time was reaching insurmountable levels. India knew that and again SKY opted to give the likes of Shivam Dube and Hardik bowling practice at the death. Arshdeep was the pick of the bowlers. Bennett deserved a 100 but he was starved of the strike in the last over and couldn’t get there. Creditable showing with the bat from Zimbabwe but India’s firepower with the bat was too much on the night for the African nation. Brian Bennett scored 97* of 59 balls and skipper Sikandar Raza scored 31 runs of 21 balls. For South Africa, Marco Jansen picked 4 wickets for 22 runs in his 3.5 overs.
