Team India scored 180/7 in 19.3 overs after batting first. Pretty impressive effort that from India. South Africa knocked over both Jaiswal and Gill without a run for the duo, but Tilak and SKY counterattacked before the former threw it away. Rinku joined his captain, who played some delightful and trademark hits. 17 off Jansen, 15 off Phehlukwayo and 16 off Williams meant the pressure was always on the bowlers. Shamsi bowled well and deceived SKY in flight for a mishit. Markram managed to prise out Jitesh but paid the price bowling the 19th over as Rinku took him for consecutive sixes as he tried to cover up for his pacers who weren’t exactly on song. Coetzee showed his class again with two wickets off two balls before the heavens opened up. The pitch is slow and India have got a pretty good total already as South Africa sprayed the ball quite a bit. But the rain could make bowling tougher in the second half. This could be interesting if this game lasts the distance. Rinku Singh scored 68* runs of 39 balls and skipper Suryakumar Yadav scored 56 runs of 36 balls. For South Africa, Gerald Coetzee picked 3 wickets for 32 runs in his 3.3 overs.

South Africa chased the target successfully by scoring 154/5 in their 13.5 overs. We have been treated to some fascinating ball-hitting tonight with South Africa coming out triumphs! After winning the toss and opting to bowl, the hosts begun on the right note with both openers departing for a duck. But India staged a brilliant recovery courtesy a dominant middle-order performance with SKY and Rinku at the helm of things. Rain came down just before the completion of the first innings and it did quicken up the slow pitch. The revised target for South Africa was 152 off 15 overs. Hendricks and Breetzke got their side off to a flier as the duo stitched 42 off 17 balls. The latter succumbed to a run-out but the platform was already set. Markram came in and middled the ball beautifully with Hendricks going hammer and tongs from the other end. Gripping the ball was a difficulty considering how damp the outfield was. The Indian bowlers missed their mark and paid the price. The hosts lost 3 wickets in a space of 12 runs and the Men in Blue had a glimmer of hope. However, it was too much of an ask for the Indian bowlers and they couldn’t affect anything spectacular. Stubbs and Phehlukwayo held their nerves and took their side off to a convincing victory. Reeza Hendricks scored 49 of 27 balls and skipper Aiden Markram scored 30 runs of 17 balls. For Team India, Mukesh Kumar picked 2 wickets 34 runs in his 3 overs.
