In this post, I am sharing the Confirmed list of Web-series and Movies releasing in October 2020 on OTT. As we know due to ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic cinema halls will open from until 15th October with 50% capacity as per MHA so we may see movies releasing in theatres directly so enjoy the movies on OTT which is available for limited time.
For audiences OTT is like a cinema halls after the lockdown, they are enjoying different contents in form of movies and web-series on different platforms and interesting facts is that many films and Web-series are even clashing on OTT.
Here I am sharing entire list of movies and web-series releasing this month:
1. Khaali Peeli (Movie)
Release date: 2nd Oct (Zee Plex)
Cast: Ananya Panday, Ishaan Khatter and Jaideep Ahlawat
Director: Maqbool Khan
Details: The story is about two childhood sweethearts Pooja and Blackie who gets separated due to certain circumstances when they were kids. Pooja, who is now a prostitute, decides to escape the brothel on turning 18, with a bag full of stolen money. She bumps into Blackie who is now a very “chalu” Bombay taxi driver. He agrees to “drive” her to freedom, in exchange for a hefty amount. This leads to a series of chase and escape – with the goons on Pooja’s trail and the cops on the goons’ trail.
2. Serious Men (Movie)
Release date: 2nd Oct (Netflix)
Cast: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Indira Tiwari, M. Nasser, Aakshath Das and Shweta Basu Prasad
Director: Sudhir Mishra
Details: What happens when you find out your child is a genius? That’s the dream of every Indian parent – you can finally claim to have a child better than Sharma Ji ka beta. Hearing your son being called the junior APJ Abdul Kalam, the next Einstein, may sound great but is all that attention positive? Ayyan and Oja Mani want their son to shine, thanks to his talents. They want him to be successful and defy the odds to better the condescending ‘Serious Men’ around them, but will he?
3. Bahut Hua Sammaan (Movie)
Release date: 2nd Oct (Disney Plus Hotstar VIP)
Cast: Ram Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Sanjay Mishra, Abhishek Chauhan, Nidhi Singh
Director: Ashish Shukla
Details: It is a satirical comedy that revolves around the story of two Mechanical engineering students. These characters are played by Raghav Juyal and Abhishek Chauhan and two then decide to rob a bank as per a master plan which was carried out by the character played by Sanjay Mishra
4. Expiry Date (Web Series)
Release date: 2nd Oct (Zee5 Premium)
Cast: Sneha Ullal, Ali Reza, Madhu Shalini and Tony Luke
Director: Shankar K Marthand
Details: It is a bilingual series, also made in Hindi along with Telugu. Vishwa and Sunitha get entangled in in two separate police cases due to an extramarital affair between their respective spouses. Are they involved, or are they mere victims of an unforeseen situation?
5. High (Web Series)
Release date: 7th Oct (MX Player)
Cast: Akshay Oberoi, Ranvir Shorey, Mrinmayee Godbole, Shweta Basu Prasad, Kunal Naik, Prakash Belawadi, Nakul Bhalla, Mantra and Madhur Mittal
Director: Nikhil Rao
Details: Shiv Mathur (Akshay Oberoi) is an addict struggling to get a grip on his life and eventually finds himself in a rehab facility. The rehab is run by Doctor Roy (Prakash Belawadi) and two other junior doctors, Shweta (Shweta Basu Prasad) and Nakul (Nakul Bhalla), who are working on a mysterious compound. This magical pill seems to have an edge above all; but is this miracle drug worth dying for?
6. Ginny Weds Sunny (Movie)
Release date: 9th Oct (Netflix)
Cast: Vikrant Massey, Yami Gautam and Ayesha Raza
Director: Puneet Khanna
Details: Living with her matchmaker mother in Delhi, Ginny is a free spirit who refuses to settle with mediocre. Enter: Sunny. He’s got cheesy romantic lines, witty answers, an aversion for risk and a determination to make Ginny his wife.
7. Scam 1992 (Web Series)
Release date: 9th Oct (Sony LIV)
Cast: Pratik Gandhi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Satish Kaushik, Nikhil Dwivedi, Ananth Mahadevan, Rajat Kapoor, Lalit Parimoo, KK Raina, Shadaab Khan and Jai Mehta.
Director: Hansal Mehta
Details: Set in 1980’s & 90’s Bombay, Scam 1992 follows the life of Harshad Mehta, a stockbroker who single-handedly took the stock market to dizzying heights & his catastrophic downfall.
8. Poison 2 (Web Series)
Release date: 16th Oct (Zee5 Premium)
Cast: Aftab Shivdasani, Raai Lakshmi, Pooja Chopra, Zain Imam, Vin Rana, Asmita Sood and Rahul Dev.
Director: Vishal Pandya
Details: It is 2nd season of Poison with some new cast with old one’s. The story of the series is all going to about revenge. Ranveer is released from jail. After which he will be going to Goa to take revenge from his enemies. DSP Vikram has his eyes on the don Antonio Verghese who operates from Goa.
9. Comedy Couple (Movie)
Release date: 21st Oct (Zee5 Premium)
Cast: Saqib Saleem, Shweta Basu Prasad, Pooja Bedi and Aadar Malik
Director: Nachiket Samant
Details: The story moves around the couple which is a laugh-riot on stage. With their sharp and witty take on a variety of issues like finding romance in the city while grappling with the same problems off-stage. When one of their comedy acts go viral, their professional and personal lives collide, resulting in uncomfortable truths and bittersweet realizations, which they must navigate to make sense of their relationship.
10. Mirzapur 2 (Web Series)
Release date: 23rd Oct (Amazon Prime Video)
Cast: Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Harshita Gaur, Vijay Varma and Isha Talwar
Director: Gurmmeet Singh
Details: Mirzapur 2 is 2nd season of one of the most popular web series. 2nd season is about the revenge of Guddu and Golu against Kaleen and Munna Bhaiya. Trailer will release on 6th Oct so will add it on same day.
11. Footfairy (Web Series)
Release date: 24th Oct (&pictures)
Cast: Gulshan Devaiah, Sagarika Ghatge, and Kunaal Roy Kapur
Director: Kanishk Varma
Details: The path to embrace one’s obsession can lead to something gruesome and that is what CBI office Vivaan Deshmukh discovers during the intense cat & mouse chase with the serial killer ‘Footfairy’
12. Taish (Movie)
Release date: 29th Oct (Zee5 Premium)
Cast: Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Jim Sarbh and Harshvardhan Rane
Director: Bejoy Nambiar
Details: It is a revenge drama that surrounds two families and an incident that ignites a storm. With love and revenge as a strong motif, the story will take you through an emotional wild ride. Trailer is not yet so will upload once share by makers.
Durgesh Tiwary’s View : In my view Serious Men and Bahut Hua Sammaan are the movies to watch out for in this month as they seems amazing and I am really excited for them.
In web series I will prefer Scam 1992 and Mirzapur 2. Scam 1992 is based on real incident and I don’t think I need for provide any reason for season 2 of Mirzapur.
