In this post, I am sharing the Confirmed list of Movies and Web-Series releasing in August 2021 on OTT and Cinemas. When situation started to seem better and filmmakers decided to release films in theatres, the number of coronavirus cases in the country have started to rise again. This has further compelled makers to rethink releasing their films in theatres. Some of them have already delayed the releases.
Now again situation is getting better so we may have few releases and for the first time after few months gap 3 movies are set to releasing in this month. One of the most awaited movie Bell Bottom starring Akshay Kumar is finally scheduled to release on 19th August after getting postponed thrice. It will have now clash with Hollywood movie F9: The Fast Saga which will release in India same day. Another Hollywood movie The Suicide Squad will release on 6th August.
This is also a biggest release for OTT as well as big films like Bhuj and Shershaah will release on OTT. For audiences OTT platforms are like a cinema halls after the lockdown, they are enjoying different contents in form of movies and web-series on different platforms. It is almost certain audiences will get more movies and web-series on OTT due to current situation and they can watch per their choices onwards.
Here I am sharing entire list of movies and web-series releasing this month:
1. Dial 100 (Movie)
Release date: 6th August 2021 (Zee5 Premium)
Cast: Manoj Bajpayee, Neena Gupta and Sakshi Tanwar
Director: Rensil D’Silva

2. The Suicide Squad (Movie)
Release date: 6th August 2021 (In Cinemas)
Cast: Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney and Peter Capaldi.

3. Navarasa (Web-Series)
Release date: 6th August 2021 (Netflix)

4. Shershaah (Movie)
Release date: 12th August 2021 (Amazon Prime Video)
Cast: Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Anil charanjeett, Sahil Vaid and Shataf Figar
Director: Vishnu Varadhan
Details: This war drama is true story of a PVC awardee brave Indian soldier Late Capt. Vikram Batra, his courage remains eternal and his memory indelible in the Indian psyche. His contributions count as blessings in India’s win over the enemy in the Kargil War of 1999.
5. Bhuj The Pride Of India (Movie)

6. Godzilla Vs Kong (Movie)

Details: Movie is releasing on OTT on 14th August after being released in Cinemas. Details: This is first big release in cinemas after 2nd wave of Covid-19. This is story of a RAW Agent on the trail of mystery set in the backdrop of eighties.
8. Comedy Premium League (Web-Series)
Release date: 20th August 2021 (Netflix)
Cast: Prajakta Koli, Amit Tandon, Samay Raina, Rytasha Rathore, Aadar Malik, Mallika Dua, Rahul Subramanian, Urooj Ashfaq, Rahul Dua, Kenny Sebastian, Prashasti Singh, Kaneez Surka, Aakash Gupta, Sumukhi Suresh, Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi & Sumaira Shaikh

9. Cartel (Web-Series)

Details: Set in Mumbai, Cartel tells the story of 5 crime-lords based in different areas of the city, how they carry out their illegal operations & how political, judiciary & corporate bodies are closely intertwined with the underworld of contemporary times. The five gangs have lived with mutual cooperation and peace because of a treaty put forth by Rani Mai years ago. However, a sudden turn of events creates an imbalance between the gangs, and what happens next is what Cartel is all about.
10. 200 Hall Ho (Movie)

Cast: Amol Palekar, Rinku Rajguru, Barun Sobti, Sahil Khattar, Saloni Batra, Upendra Limaye, Indraneil Sengupta and Flora Saini
Director: Sarthak Dasgupta
Details: Film is based on true story. In August 2004, around 200 Dalit women in Nagpur had lynched a gangster in a courtroom for reportedly raping and abusing several women of their colony for over a decade without receiving any punishment.
11. Engineering Girls 2.0 (Web-Series)
Release date: 27th August 2021 (Zee5 Premium)
Cast: Barkha Singh, Kritika Avasthi and Sejal Kumar
Director: Apoorv Singh Karki
Details: Maggu, Subu, and Kiara reunite for a rocking final year filled with more fun and misadventures. The new season follows how they solve their way out of every situation to make their dreams come true, coming together, better, and stronger in the end.
11. The Empire (Web-Series)
Release date: 27th August 2021 (Disney Plus Hotar VIP)
Cast: Dino Morea, Drashti Dhami, Kunal Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Aditya Seal, Sahher Bambba and Imaad Shah
Director: Mitakshara Kumar.
Details: The story of a king battling against enemies, fate, family, death and even himself, in search of his kingdom. It focuses on the rise and fall of Mughal Empire through generations from Babur to Aurangzeb.
Durgesh Tiwary’s View : In my view Shershaah, Bhuj and 200 Hall Ho are the movies to watch out for in 2nd half of this month because of their content and story.
