Story: Series is based on the infamous Burari Deaths that shook Delhi in the year 2018 and its fictitious version of the case of ritual mass suicide that shook the nation. Set in Delhi, we are introduced to Anya (Tamannaah Bhatia) who is a no-nonsense, dedicated cop who apprehends an IIT-educated graduate for a credit card scam. After that She get a call from his senior to investigate a case where 11 family members have committed suicide together.

What initially seems to be a ritualistic mass suicide takes on a more disturbing nature as initial investigations unfold. With no suicide note or evidence pointing towards domestic problems so Anya suspects’ murder. One of the deceased Rajawat brothers Bhuvan (Abhishek Banerjee) has a tragic past that haunted him.

Anya now has two possible suspects and a dead woman’s Anshika (Kriti Vij) fiancé Aman (Shivin Narang) and a notorious criminal gang. New episodes of this series will be out on every Friday.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this web-series, planned to watch this series in my free time as trailer looks gripping and engaging as it’s based on true events.

Drawn from the tragic Burari incident, this investigative thriller centers around a police officer who is called upon to probe the suspected suicides of 11 family members. The incident involves three generations of a family who all perish on the same fateful night.

The first two episodes of Aakhri Sach are average as whatever is shown is already in the trailer. We knew the bodies would be found, and the cops would be staggered by such a complicated case. There’s already a documentary on Netflix called House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths, which offers a deep insight into what had happened to the family members and all the wild theories that made the case so sensational back then. So, releasing it as an episode doesn’t seem to be a wise decision for a case that’s already popular. There are a couple of interesting characters to watch out for, as the series movies forward.

The series lacks the intensity and urgency that could have been woven in. There was potential for significant tension both within the police fraternity and the victim’s family, but the series barely scratches the surface. It’s a subject that one would’ve loved binging in altogether instead of waiting every week for a new episode, especially when there’s so much material available on it already. The case is just 5 years old. It’s true that the media had covered the case extensively. Hence, releasing just two episodes for the not-so-old case that was so broadly covered should’ve been avoided. It emerges as a typical police procedural investigative drama, finding its effectiveness in certain segments, primarily due to its supporting characters. However, the overall result appears underdeveloped, leaving certain tensions unexplored.

Overall, series is a series worth watching, as its intricate plot is gradually unveiled, allowing for a comprehensible grasp of the entire storyline. Nonetheless, one can’t help but wish for a more intense and edgier execution. One can hope that the show picks up through its course since this is what the story deserves. My view on this web-series is Recommended if you wanted to know about this tragic incident.
