Two changes in GT playing XI as their skipper Hardik Pandya is not fit so Rashid Khan is leading this team and Alzzari Jospeh has replaced him in the squad. Wriddhiman Saha is also playing in the place of Matthew Wade.

Chennai Super Kings scored 169/5 in their 20 overs after batting first. Just 45 off the last 6 overs as GT pulled things back when at one stage when Gaikwad and Rayudu threatened to take CSK over 180. Earlier, Shami set the tone with a superb first spell of 3 overs which saw him dismiss Uthappa but Gaikwad took his time and slowly regained his touch. He then started to expand his strokemaking range and along with Rayudu took the score to 124 after 14 overs. But Joseph came back and executed the wide outside off line to dismiss Rayudu and then GT took the big wicket of Gaikwad. The last over provided a flourish for CSK as Jadeja slammed consecutive sixes. Eventually CSK get 169. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 73 runs of 48 balls and Ambati Rayudu scored 46 runs of 31 balls. For GT, Alzarri Joseph pick 2 wickets for 34 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Gujarat Titans chased down the target successfully by scoring 170/7 in 20th over and won the game by 3 wickets. No Hardik Pandya today, team tottering at 87/5 in the 13th over with Miller being the only recognized batter left at the crease. But in came captain Rashid. Smacked Jordan for 25 runs in the 18th over to stun CSK. DJ Bravo was outstanding at one end with slower balls and variation in lengths, but Gujarat calculated those two weak overs at the death from Jordan and robbed the game off CSK’s bag. He targetted the bowlers so well as he wasn’t picking Bravo all that well. Waited for the rest and smashed the ball to all corners. He did play a blinder for KXIP against RCB a number of years ago in Mohali, this now is one of his best recently. CSK paying the price for not having a great pairing with Bravo at the death. Jordan over Pretorius always raised eyebrows. Sure Jordan is a good death bowler, but Pretorious has been outstanding recently for South Africa with his stunning variations at the end. We saw even the best struggle against him in the World Cup and he did bowl an outstanding spell with a soaking wet ball in a high-scorer against LSG. If not for an injury, the axing of Pretorius was interesting. David Miller scored 94* runs of 51 balls and Skipper Rashid Khan score 40 runs of 31 balls. For CSK, Dwayne Bravo pick 3 wickets for 23 runs in his 4 overs quota.
