Punjab Kings scored 135/6 runs in their 20 overs. A decent effort by PBKS but MI have done exceptionally well in the death overs to restrict them to low total. Mandeep and Rahul got the Kings off to a steady start, but Krunal Pandya came into the attack to break the opening stand. However, it was Pollard’s over that changed the game on its head in the powerplay. Pollard got two huge wickets in his only over of Rahul and Gayle. Following that, Hooda and Markram steadied the ship with their partnership for the fifth wicket. But Bumrah and Coulter-Nile squeezed the run-rate towards the death overs. Bumrah finished with a couple of wickets, and had he not kept things tight towards the end. Aiden Markram scored 42 of 29 balls and Deepak Hooda also scored 28 of 26 balls. For MI Pollard and Bumrah picks 2 wickets each.

Mumbai Indians successfully chase the target by scoring 137/4 in 19 overs. A sorry night for Punjab Kings yet again. They gave it all with the ball and despite having 137 on the board, managed to bring the equation down to 40 off 4 overs. The power and potential of Hardik and Pollard, though, proved just too good for them. Mumbai had the worst possible start in the powerplay losing Rohit and SKY off successive deliveries, but a near 50-run stand between de Kock and Saurabh Tiwary brought a much-needed stability to the chase, and therefore, set up a perfect platform for the finishers to flourish in the end. Punjab only have themselves to blame as they failed to find a boundary after the departure of Markram and that kind of made the difference between a competitive total and a below-par one. Saurabh Tiwary scored 45 of 37 balls and Hardik Pandya scored 40* of 30 balls. For PBKS Ravi Bishnoi pick 2 wickets 25 runs in his 4 overs.
