Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 156/6 runs in their 20 overs. In those last four overs, RCB lost five wickets while scoring just 25. The execution with those leg-cutters and yorkers from the trio of Chahar, Bravo and Thakur was really good. Kohli and Padikkal were off to a flier, each scoring fifties, but they slowed down as the innings progressed, and batting against the older ball didn’t look easy. There was turn for Jadeja, while the slower balls from the seamers held up, making life difficult in the slog overs. CSK will be delighted with how they’ve finished, but we’ll have to wait and see how the chase goes and whether dew will have an impact. Devdutt Padikkal scored 70 of 50 balls and skipper Virat Kohli scored 53 of 41 balls. For CSK DJ Bravo pick 3 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Chennai Super Kings successfully chased down the target by scoring in 157/4 in 18.1 overs and won the game by 6 wickets and reach at the top spot of the points table. Quite the walk in the park, and just like that a move back to the top of the table, but so very clinical and simple that Raina and Dhoni don’t even bother celebrating. They’ve been knocking off run-chases like these since forever. This will hurt Bangalore though, for they’ve gambled with their team combination once again after their previous 92-all-out, and in the process have lacked incision with the ball. So Faf and Gaikwad started off much like how Kohli and Padikkal did in the powerplay, using the non-swinging ball and these tiny boundaries to good effect. And despite the wobble against the leg-spin of Chahal and Hasaranga soon after, Moeen and Rayudu were quick to find their groove and made sure things didn’t stagnate. Given Rayudu’s swollen elbow and Raina’s clear weakness against quick pace, perhaps Kohli missed a trick by keeping his spinners on for a little too long. But still, it was RCB’s batting in the second half of their innings that lost them this. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 38 of 26 balls and Ambati Rayudu scored 32 of 22 balls. For RCB Ambati Rayudu pick all 2 wickets for 25 runs in his 3.1 overs.
