Vivo IPL: CSK beat KKR by 2 wickets in the 38th game of IPL 2021 and qualify for the play-offs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi . Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

38th Game (Chennai Super Kings Vs Kolkata Knight Riders)
Game Date: 26th September 2021
Details:
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first in the 38th game of IPL 2021 against Chennai Super Kings. No changes in their playing XI and their four foreign players of this game are Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Lockie Ferguson and Eoin Morgan..

CSK made one change and included Sam Curran in the place of Dwayne Bravo. Their four foreign players of this game are Faf du Plessis, Sam Curran, Josh Hazlewood and Moeen Ali..

Kolkata Knight Riders scored 171/6 runs in their 20 overs. So KKR have got the 170 they were targetting, so the morale in the team must be high. They were off to a very good start in the powerplay 50/1 in 5 overs, but Thakur bowled a brilliant wicket-maiden getting rid of Venkatesh Iyer. And then KKR shied away from what they had set out to do – play fearless cricket. Just 43 runs and 2 wickets came in the next 8 overs as CSK controlled things pretty well. Rana struggled, Russell upped the pace a bit but Thakur came back to clean him up. But DK played a very refreshing cameo to give KKR extra 10 runs than what they looked like getting after Russell’s departure. Special mention to Tripathi for yet another pleasing stay at the crease. This could have easily got 190+, but they have at least got what they aimed for. Chahar, Thakur, Jadeja were pretty good, but Sam Curran’s 56 runs hurt CSK. Hazlewood too wasn’t really on target. Now onto the battle between KKR’s mystery bowlers vs CSK’s bold batters. Rahul Tripathi scored 45 of 33 balls and Nitish Rana scored 37* of 27 balls. For CSK Hazlewood and Shardul picks 2 wickets each.

Chennai Super Kings chase the target in the last ball by scoring 172/8 in their 20 overs and won the game by just 2 wickets and qualify for the play-offs. So many twists and turns and it is the experienced CSK line-up that kept their nerves in the end. Could Narine have bowled the 19th? We can only contemplate now. CSK seemed to be cruising through the first half of the chase thanks to a 74-run opening stand but Morgan played his cards perfectly. He held back his mystery spinners for the old ball and though Narine went for 41 in his four overs, he picked up 3 wickets. Chakaravarthy too did his part well, conceding only 22 runs in his four and getting the crucial wicket of Dhoni. However, it was Jadeja who had the final say in the game as he blasted 20 off the penultimate over and put CSK in such a position that even though they lost Curran and Jadeja in the final over, they were able to get over the line. Faf du Plessis scored 43 of 30 balls and Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 40 of 28 balls. For KKR Sunil Narine 3 wickets for 41 runs in his 4 overs quota.

KKR: 171/6 in 20 overs
