This captivating trailer of the show which showcases the return of the nation’s most endearing Family Man aka Srikant Tiwari played by Manoj Bajpayee. This season Srikant Tiwari will be pitted against a new, powerful and brutal adversary named Raaji essayed by Samantha Akkineni. The 9-part season of the thriller will see Srikant continuing to jostle between the duality of being a middle class family man and a world class spy and trying to save the nation from an imminent attack. Packed with exciting twists and an unexpected climax, the upcoming season of the edgy action-drama series will give a riveting glimpse of the two worlds of Srikant.
The Family Man Season 2 earlier scheduled to release on 12th Feb 2021 but due to controversy related to Tandav web-series makers postponed the release date of this one. Brand Amazon had taken a beating in India with two of their most successful shows Mirzapur and Tandav coming under the scanner for allegedly hurting popular sentiments. Amazon didn’t feel the atmosphere was conducive to the release of a big franchise like The Family Man in February.
Samantha Akkineni is one of the most accomplished actresses down South, in the Tamil and Telugu industry. In her 11 year career, The Family Man 2 is her first web series and also her first project in Hindi and she plays the role of a suicide bomber. She belongs to a terrorist organization and the cat and mouse chase between her character and that of Manoj Bajpayee will be something to watch out for.
For the audiences this web-series is as famous as Mirzapur on Amazon Prime Video. Fans were desperately waited for the new season of this show. Family Man season 1 was released 20th September 2019 and become huge hit and every one loved the story and Manoj Bajpayee acting. It received eleven nominations at the Filmfare OTT Awards. It eventually won five awards Best Actor (Crtitics) for Manoj Bajpayee, Best Actress (Critics) for Priyamani, Best Series (Critics), Best Director (Critics) and Best Dialogues.
Season one follows the story of Srikant Tiwari, who works as a senior analyst in the fictional Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC), which is a part of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of India. He is a married man with two kids, and the first season follows an investigation of a potential terrorist attack, while simultaneously following his slightly unsettled family life.The show is inspired by real life newspaper articles.
The family action entertainer film also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Samantha Akkineni, Priyamani, Sharib Hashmi, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Sunny Hinduja, Sharad Kelkar, Darshan Kumaar, Dalip Tahil, VipinKumar A Sharma, Seema Biswas, Asif Sattar Basra, Shahab Ali, Ashlesha Thakur, Vedant Sinha, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshini Chetan, Mime Gopi, N Alagamperumal, Anandsami, Abhay Verma, and others in the key roles.
Series is directed by Raj & DK who also directed the first season. They have also confirmed that idea of season has been conceptualized and once Amazon will give go ahead will started to work on it.
