Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 173/8 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. RCB will be happy with the ending but not sure if this is enough here. Earlier on, Faf and Kohli started off well with the 50 up in 5 overs, but the introduction of spin pulled things back. Faf holed out and then Kohli had a nightmarish 5 minutes when he ran Maxwell out who had come in at 3 to counterattack the spinners, in the next over Kohli got bowled through the gate by Mo. Not for the first time as well. It left Patidar and Lomror to rebuild and CSK’s spinners ran through their overs for not much. But Lomror played a fine innings and DK at the end addded the finishing touches. 50 off the last 5 overs and 74 off the last 7 but Theekshana was outstanding in the 19th over taking 3 wickets giving away 2 runs. strong>Mahipal Lomror scored 42 runs of 27 balls and Skipper Faf Du Plessis scored 38 runs of 22 balls. For CSK, Maheesh Theekshana pick 3 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Chennai Super Kings unable to chased the target and scored 160/8 in their 20 overs and lost the game by 13 runs. RCB pick up a crucial win and one which has almost stifled CSK’s chances for this edition. Many times CSK have done this to RCB but they have tasted their own medicine today. Dew never really came in and Maxwell took advantage of that with his double strike. 173 never looked that much and CSK started off well too. But Maxwell’s entry started the slide from which CSK never recovered. None from the CSK camp could bat deep and that proved detrimental for them. The RCB bowlers used the slower balls really well to outdo a seasoned outfit. Devon Conway scored 56 runs of 37 balls and Moeen Ali score 34 runs of 27 balls.
