T20 World Cup 2021: Team India is almost out of tournament after back to back defeats. New Zealand beat them by 8 wickets in the 2nd game at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

2nd game (India Vs New Zealand)
Game Date: 31st October 2021
Details:
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 2nd game of super 12 game against Indian Cricket Team. India has made 2 changes and included Shardul Thakur and Ishan Kishan in the place of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and injured Suryakumar Yadav.

India scored 110/7 in their 20 overs. This is the 2nd lowest total for Team India the world cups and 2nd against the same team. If someone had told New Zealand before the game, that India will end up with 110 without getting bowled out in 20 overs they would’ve bitten that said person’s hand off. India sprung a surprise on New Zealand by sending Ishan Kishan as opener; more to go with a left-right combination and importantly to counter Boult‘s threat with the new-ball. But the left-arm pacer showed that he could do it against the left-handers too with help from Kishan of course who found deep backward square leg. Rohit was dropped first ball, then for an over off Milne when Rohit and KL took 15 off it, it looked like that drop was going to prove costly. Nothing of that sort as one after the other departed to catches in the deep. Pant and Pandya did the rebuilding but boundaries were hard to come by. Eventually a few boundaries here and there and India finish on 110. Ravindra Jadeja scored 26* of 19 balls and KL Rahul scored 18 of 16 balls. For New Zealand Trent Boult pick 3 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs quota.

New Zealand successfully chase the target and scored 111/2 in 14.3 overs and won the game by 8 wickets. The updated record since 1990 in ICC events now reads NZ 8-1 IND. India simply didn’t show up with the bat. They were fancied, in theory, with all their players gaining experience in the conditions during the IPL, but they never played as a unit in the lead-up and it shows. In the second half perhaps a less abject surrender was expected, but New Zealand were simply too pragmatic to let the big names faze them, nurdling and nudging their way to a paltry target. Guptill started off aggressively before Mitchell took over, and fell just short of his maiden T20I fifty, and eventually the captain stayed unbeaten to guide them to a comfortable win. India, apart from Bumrah looked hapless and clueless in their approach, and perhaps put in far too much effort in the wrong direction. Daryl Mitchell scored 49 of 35 balls and skipper Kane Williamson scored 33* of 31 balls. For India Jasprit Bumrah pick 2 wickets for 19 runs in his 4 overs quota.
