Raktanchal 2 Review: Mysteries still remain unsolved till the end due to repetitive and unexciting script in this revenge cum political drama
Raktanchal 2 Web Series Rating: 2 Stars

Just watched Raktanchal 2 web series on MX Player. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this web series.

Cast: Nikitin Dheer, Kranti Prakash Jha, Mahie Gill, Ashish Vidyarthi, Karan Patel, Soundarya Sharma, Mukesh Bhatt, Vikram Kochhar, Ronjini Chakraborty, Basu Soni, Krishna Bisht and Chitranjan Tripathy
Director: Ritam Srivastav
Release Date: 11th February 2022 (MX Player)
Duration: 9 Episodes/ 40 Minutes

Story: First had ended at a point where Vijay Singh (Kranti Prakash Jha) was killed by his enemies, it appears to be nothing but just another mind game. Four years post Vijay Singh’s death, the Mumbai Police is on a hunt for another criminal Maqsood and his main man Uday Thakur. And while ACP Himanshu (Karan Patel) has made a smart plan to catch hold of Maqsood, little does he know that this crime web is way more entangled than he had thought.

Despite his full proof planning, Vijay Singh (who was termed to be dead in police records) manages to breach the hospital security and killed the criminals. He did this on the order of home minister of UP Ramanand Rai (Ashish Vidyarthi). It was her niece Roli (Soundarya Sharma) and him who saved Vijay life and keep him away the world.

On the other hand Waseem Khan (Nikitan Dheer) becomes very strong after Vijay departure. His political status grows so much that he even becomes the Home Minister of the state after replacing Ramanand Rai. Saraswati Devi (Mahi Gill) who is very close to CM wants to use this gang war to her advantage through politics in her own way.

ACP Himanshu also decided to catch Vijay Singh alive so he also comes to Varanasi. After the death of CM, Ramanand Rai, Saraswati Devi and Waseem khan are in the race and the political equations are heating up as the Chief Minister chair is up for grabs. How is Vijay Singh connected to all these is the basic plot of the series.

Positives
1. Excellent Performances
2. Direction
3. Screenplay

Negatives
1. Length
2. Dragged and stretched
3. Predictable
4. Story
5. Climax

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I have watched the trailer of this series planned to watch in free time because already watched the first season and loved it. I am also very fascinated about stories based on true incidents.

Vijay Singh may have lost the final showdown with Waseem Khan in season one, but the gangs of Uttar Pradesh have bigger graves to dig as the top guns of Bombay Police come knocking at their doors. Why the sudden broadening of horizon? What, or rather who, is enticing the dons of Mumbai to the mysterious ghats of Varanasi?

Raktanchal second season of the series feels like a set-up to the next chapter. The primary characters take a backseat to the supporting parts, which take the narrative forward. The politics of the land, as usual, is the canvas on which the whole drama unfolds. It is here that we see an utterly predictable narrative taking place. There are small twists and turns regularly, but not all of them have the impact. Some can be from miles away. Despite the predictability, the drama holds the attention intermittently. The investigation track further helps the cause even if it looks like reaching a dead end.

The subplots featuring the more minor characters could have been cut short. They add to the length and make the characters and their action look repetitive. The series starts well but stagnates after a point. It then picks up again towards the end. However, as everything appears like a set-up to the next instalment, there is an underwhelming feeling to everything. My view on this series is Time Pass only if you like political dramas, even if they are on predictable terrain.
