Paytm T20 Series 2022: Back to back defeats for Team India against South Africa in T20’s. They beat India by 4 wickets in the 2nd T20 at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. Now I will share the details of this game match in my way.

Details: South Africa captain Temba Bavuma won the toss again and elected to bowl first in the 2nd T20 against Team India at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. Team India is playing with same team while two forced changes in South Africa and Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs misses out Heinrich Klaasen and Reeza Hendricks is playing today.

Team India scored 148/6 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. 30 runs off the last two overs has gotten India close to the 150-mark. At one stage, it didn’t look possible as they went 24 balls without a boundary. The pitch is uneven and two-paced; some balls are bouncing more and some are keeping low, while some are not coming onto the bat. India might feel they have a par score on the board and there were three main contributors; Ishan Kishan got them going in the powerplay, Shreyas Iyer held the innings together and Dinesh Karthik gave the required finish. South Africa would have taken this score at the start of the game when they won the toss and decided to bowl, but would feel they gave away 10-15 runs too many towards the end. Shreyas Iyer scored 40 runs of 35 balls and Ishan Kishan scored 34 runs of 21 balls. For South Africa, Anrich Nortje pick 2 wickets for 36 runs in his 4 overs quota.

South Africa chased down the target successfully by scoring 149/6 in 18.2 overs. What an emphatic win for South Africa, a win that has helped them clinch a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a fantastic opening spell as the Proteas were reduced to 29/3 within the powerplay. However, Klaasen walked in next and had a match-defining partnership with the South African captain Bavuma. Klaasen took time to get his eye in, but once he was set, he proved to be severely punitive against the Indian bowlers, particularly against the spinners. Chahal conceded 49 runs in 4 overs, while Axar conceded 19 runs in his over. Not a great day for the spinners to be honest. It wasn’t a great performance by the Indian batters earlier in the evening either. Had the hosts managed to get 160-170, this match might have probably gone down to the wire. That wasn’t to be, and it’s going to be a difficult task for India to fight back as they’ll have to win three games on the bounce. Heinrich Klaasen scored 81 runs of 46 balls and Skipper Temba Bavuma score 35 runs of 30 balls. For Team India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar pick 4 wickets for 13 runs in his 4 overs quota.
