Team India scored 184/7 in their 20 overs. A brilliant cameo by Chahar has helped India get a formidable score. They had a superb start as Rohit and Ishan got them off to a flier, and the bowling all-rounders have chipped in with useful cameos towards the end. For New Zealand, Santner was the pick of the lot as he got three wickets to slow things down after the kind of start Rohit gave India. But it were the middle order batsmen who struggled to get going. There was a mini batting collapse when India were reduced to 103/4, but Venkatesh Iyer and Shreyas Iyer had a decent stand to rebuild the innings. Harshal and Chahar hit a few lusty blows towards the end to get the momentum in back of India’s favour, but this looks a good wicket to bat on. There’s plenty of dew as we got to see a lot of misfields, so India will have to overcome this challenge in order to make it 3-0. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 56 of 31 balls and Ishan Kishan scored 29 of 21 balls. For New Zealand Mitchell Santner pick 3 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs quota.

New Zealand unable to chase the target and bowled out for 111 in 17.2 and lost the game by 73 runs. A 3-0 sweep for India to kick things off under new leadership in T20Is. Had a few nervous moments in that first game, which shouldn’t have gone so deep, but barring that it’s been mostly plain sailing. Today was the most comprehensive performance and they’ll take some delight in the fact that it came batting first, wanting to test themselves after winning the toss. Rohit fired again at the top, with India’s approach in the powerplay being one of the takeaways of this series. The other takeaway has been their spinners. Ashwin has been the highlight as far as that’s concerned. But in his absence today Axar Patel grabbed the spotlight. Three wickets in 10 balls, and that was almost the game given the lack of New Zealand’s batting depth. Guptill looked dangerous enroute his fifty, but once Chahal got the better of him in the 11th over, the contest was over. Martin Guptill scored 51 of 36 balls and Tim Seifert scored 17 of 18 balls. For Team India skipper Axar Patel pick 3 wickets in his 3 overs for just 9 runs.
That's that from the Eden Gardens as #TeamIndia win by 73 runs and clinch the series 3-0.
