Nazar Andaaz Review: A heart touching film manages to strike the right chord and will have a long-lasting impact on you
Nazar Andaaz Movie Rating: 3 Stars

Finally watched Nazar Andaaz movie on Netflix. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Cast: Kumud Mishra, Abhishek Banerjee and Divya Dutta
Director: Vikrant Deshmukh
Release Date: 7th October 2022 in Cinemas & digital premiere from 4th December 2022 on Netflix

Story: Movie revolves around Sudhir (Kumud Mishra) who is a kind-hearted blind man in his mid-50s, lives alone with his housekeeper Bhavani (Divya Dutta). While Bhavani was away from home because of ill-treatment things take a turn when Sudhir meets a thief (Abhishek Banerjee) and offers him food and a job at his residence. He even gives him a name- Ali. With the help of his lawyer, Sudhir is getting his will ready.

Since he has no family, Bhavani and Ali have their eyes set on his wealth. He has made a will to bequeath all his wealth. Both Bhavani and Ali try to be in his good books so that all his wealth may be inherited by them. In fact, each of them tries to ward off competition from the other by indirectly impressing upon Sudhir that they should be named as the sole inheritor in his will.

One day, Sudhir decides to go to Mandvi. Bhavani and Ali accompany him. What they see there surprises them. What happens thereafter? Who gets the will from Sudhir and what happened to Sudhir is all about this movie

Positives
1. Excellent Performances
2. Story
3. Direction
4. Dialogues
5. Climax

Negatives
1. Music
2. Length
3. Screenplay
4. First half

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on digital premiere because missed to watch in theatre as not expected it to be so good.

Sudhir is blind by birth and lives alone with his housemaid Bhavani. While Bhavani is out, he befriends a small-time thief Ali to help around the house. Both Bhavani and Ali grow envious of each other.

Nazar Andaaz story is simple but full of life and hope. The first half meanders here and there without really creating much of an impact but the story becomes more pronounced post-interval. Screenplay is good in the latter part of the film only. This is also when the drama picks pace. The portion when the trio reaches Mandvi captures the audience’s attention because it springs some surprises. Having said that, it must be added that the drama is basically meant for the class audience only. The pre-climax and the climax touch the heart.

Performances from all three actors are excellent. Direction is good considering its a debut attempt from Vikrant. His handling of the drama in the second half is quite mature. Conceptually, movie is not extraordinary, but it effectively conveys a view of life that is beautiful with the right attitude. This drama is under-promoted; otherwise, this 104-minute underdog film wins against all odds. Overall film manages to strike the right chord. Just like an underdog film, it comes in unexpectedly and wins over with its sincere attempt at telling a sweet, harmless story and beautiful performances by lead actors. It will certainly have a long-lasting impact on you. My view on this movie Recommended
