Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first in the 2nd test against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Three changes in India as they have included Mohammed Siraj, Jayant Yadav and Virat Kohli in the place of injured Ishant Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane.

Team India scored 221/4 at the end of Day 1. Only 70 overs bowled in the day due to wet outfield. Mayank Agarwal is batting on 120* runs. For New Zealand Ajaz Patel pick all 4 wickets.
