Team India scored massive 234/4 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. Absolute mayhem in Ahmedabad. Hardik won the toss and went against the usual notion of the venue, opted to bat first and his batters have responded in fine fashion. They have more than made up for the lacklustre first two T20Is by putting up a massive total on the board. The innings was all about Shubman Gill. He started off well before taking the back seat when Tripathi went berserk and SKY did his thing, but after those two departed, he stepped on the accelerator and never got down from fifth gear. His first fifty came off 35 balls and the next off 19 balls. He got to his maiden T20I hundred and went on to break Kohli’s recorded for the highest score for India in T20Is. Tripathi, SKY and Hardik contributed with quick cameos and in the end India have given themselves a great chance to win the series. New Zealand would want to forget that bowling and fielding performance for now and concentrate on making the most of a cracking surface. Shubman Gill scored 126* runs of 63 balls and Rahul Tripathi scored 44 runs of 22 balls. For New Zealand, Bracewell, Tickner, Sodhi and Daryl Mitchell picks 1 wicket each.

New Zealand bowled out for just 66 runs in 12.1 overs and lost the game by 168 runs. They came into this game dreaming of a rare away series win in India, but that dream was shattered straightaway. Chasing a mammoth 234, NZ crumbled within the powerplay. Suryakumar Yadav took two screamers at slip as Pandya picked up two early wickets, while Arshdeep added a couple more from the other end. NZ never got going after that early jolt, as Umran Malik and Shivam Mavi picked up two apiece, while Pandya returned to add two more. Daryl Mitchell was the only positive for NZ as he managed to score 35, with the next best in the team being 13. A huge loss for the Kiwis, and India’s biggest ever win in T20Is. Infact, this is the biggest margin of victory in a game played between two full member nations. Daryl Mitchell scored 35 of 25 balls and skipper Mitchell Santner scored 13 runs of 13 balls. For Team India, skipper Hardik Pandya pick 4 wickets for 16 runs in just 4 overs.
