Australia scored 186/7 runs in 20 overs after batting first. It was an action-paced first five overs. Cameron Green came out all guns blazing and blasted a 19-ball fifty (quickest against India). The hosts came back strongly post that. Bhuvi removed the dangerous Green by bowling one outside his hitting zone off the final ball of the fifth over. Post that, the Indian spinners applied the brakes in the middle overs as the spin duo finished with combined bowling figures of 8-0-55-4. At the end of the 15th over, the score read 123-6 and India would have been the happier side. But Tim David and Daniel Sams ensured that the visitors had a strong finish. The former registered his first fifty for Australia and got to the landmark off just 25 deliveries. Bhuvi and Bumrah were punished as the senior bowlers conceded 39 runs in two overs (18th and 19th). Harshal ensured that Australia didn’t cross 190 by bowling a superb final over. Tim David scored 54 runs of 27 balls and Cameron Green scored 52 runs of 21 balls. For Team India, Axar Patel picks 3 wickets for 33 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Team India successfully chase down the target by scoring 187/4 in 19.5 overs and won the game by 6 wickets. Massive smiles in the blue camp as they win the series 2-1. SKY! Gee, what a revelation he has been. And that intent in the partnership with Virat was what sealed the deal for India. Wickets fell, but both batters didn’t budge. Their post-powerplay game was top notch as they ensured a boundary almost every over to keep the run rate in check. And with some of his outrageous shots, SKY brought the run rate down in a hurry. Cam Green was Australia’s best bowler. Troubled the batters with pace, bounce, forced some mishits, but Australia didn’t give him the fourth. Hazlewood broke SKY’s stand with Virat and Australia came back a bit but with wickets in hand and hitters left, it was India’s game, although they would have wanted to finish this better. Suryakumar Yadav scored 69 of 36 balls and Virat Kohli scored 63 runs of 48 balls. For Australia, Daniel Sams pick 2 wickets for just 33 runs in his 3.5 overs quota.
