India clean sweeps New Zealand in ODI series 2023-cricketmovie.com

Mastercard ODI Series 2023: Team India completes clean sweep against New Zealand and become No1 ODI Team. They won the 3rd and final ODI by 90 runs at Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. Now I will share the details of this game in my own way.

3rd ODI (India Vs New Zealand)
Game Date: 24th January 2023
Details:
New Zealand captain Tom Latham won the toss and elected to field first in the 3rd and final ODI game against Team India Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore. Two changes in India Team and Yuzvendra Chahal and Umran Malik is playing today in the place of Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami.

Team India scored massive 385/9 runs in their 50 overs after batting first. 385 is a massive total in ODIs, but is it safe enough on this ground if dew is expected to set in? Time will tell. First things first. Outstanding effort from Rohit and Gill to put a double-century opening stand. 420 looked easily possible at one stage but the Blackcaps made a stellar comeback as the ball aged. Ball was stopping on the batters and India lost 6 wickets for 101 runs. Pressure was totally shifted back to India and it took a determined Hardik Pandya to steer them out of trouble again. Shardul gave him a great hand and the duo added a brisk 54-run stand to lift the dressing room again. Lockie and Santner were really good with the ball. Tickner was impressive too, while Duffy was taken to the cleaners despite taking three wickets. New Zealand should fancy their chances too because they bat deep and if they have wickets in hands and if dew sets in, it won’t be easy for the Indian bowlers. If dew stays away, we could see Kul-Cha trouble New Zealand. Shubman Gill scored 112 runs of 78 balls and skipper Rohit Sharma scored 101 runs of 85 balls. For New Zealand, Jacob Duffy & Blair Tickner picks 3 wickets each.

New Zealand unable to chase the target and bowled out for 295 runs in 41.2 overs and lost the match by 90 runs and series by 0-3. Big win this for Rohit and Co. He wanted to bat wanting to put his bowlers under the pump defending in tough conditions in their prep for the World Cup. And the bowlers have held their nerve and struck with the older ball. New Zealand had a great recovery with Conway-Nicholls and Conway-Mitchell. But once the middle order was exposed, they lost wickets in heaps just like India with the aging ball. To India’s advantage, the dew didn’t kick in as expected so the bowlers could grip the ball and the pitch wasn’t all that easy to hit through the line. Conway played some outstanding shots in his hundred. Shardul broke the game open for India with his double-strike in one over and then he got one more to put India on top. Kul-Cha wiped off the lower-order to hand India the win. Devon Conway scored 138 of 100 balls and Shubman Gill scored 40* runs of 53 balls. For Team India, Henry Nicholls & Kuldeep Yadav picks 3 wickets each.
