Mastercard ODI Series 2023: Australia registered biggest ever win against India in terms of balls remaining’s in the 2nd ODI. They won the game by 10 wickets and level the series at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam with final ODI to go. Now I will share the details of this game in my own way.

2nd ODI (India Vs Australia)
Game Date: 19th March 2023
Details:
Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and elected to field first in the 2nd ODI game against Team India at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. Tow changes for Indian Team and skipper Rohit Sharma and Axar Patel is playing today in the place of Ishan Kishan and Shardul Thakur.

Team India bowled out for just 117 runs in 26 after batting first. Just 2 hours and 20 minutes is all it has taken Australia to finish the first innings here at Vizag. An exhibition of fast bowling by Mitch Starc, who made the most of some early swing to dismantle the Indian top-order. India lost Gill in the first over, and then Rohit chased at a wide one to be caught at slips. Surya was out LBW first ball, and Rahul suffered a similar fate after scoring 9. India lost four inside the powerplay for the first time since the 2019 WC semi-final, and it Starc doing all the damage. Pandya was out to a screamer at first slip by Steve Smith. And just as it looked like a partnership could be building between Virat and Jaddu, up stepped Nathan Ellis. He got both batters out within three overs. Axar was looking strong but found no support from the tail as Sean Abbott was re-introduced to clean up the tail. Then Starc got back to knock down Siraj and complete his fifer. All smiles in the Aussie dugout, they have skittled out the hosts for 117. Virat Kohli scored 31 runs of 35 balls and Axar Patel scored 29* runs of 29 balls. For Australia, Mitchell Starc picks 5 wickets for 53 runs in his 8 overs.

Australia chased down the target by scoring 121/0 in just 11 overs and won the game by 10 wickets. They have made a mockery of India’s bowlers. 117 was never a target that would have bothered the visitors but Australia just were too hot to handle. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head made their intentions clear from ball one and both seam as well as spin disappeared. Fuller ball, short ball, slower ball et all nothing came good for the bowlers. Marsh had batted without any inhibitions in the last game and it was more of an extension from that game into this one for him. Head had the energy rubbed on to him and he took the Indian attack to the cleaners as well. They wanted an early finish and have had one as the entire game lasted for only 37 overs. Nothing went right for the Indians. They were shambolic with the bat and the bowlers also had a forgettable outing. From being a seaming wicket, the deck turned into a batting beauty out of nowhere. India will have to go back to the drawing board as this would go down as one of their heaviest defeats. Mitchell Marsh scored 66* of 36 balls and Travis Head scored 51* runs of 30 balls. For Team India, no bowlers pick any wickets.
