Legends League Cricket 2022 complete schedule has been announced. The new season of Legends League Cricket to be held in India has been announced by the league. The new league will have private franchise owned teams and will be held across 6 major cities, from 17th September to 8th October 2022. The new league has been dedicated to the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The league is organized by Absolute Legends Sports Pvt. Former Indian cricketer and India men’s national cricket team coach Ravi Shastri is the Commissioner of the league. The league roped in legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan as the Brand Ambassador of the league

The new season of Legends League Cricket is going to be a brand new format with four new teams in the form of privately owned franchises, commencing the latest round of innovations in the global T20 league. Legends League Cricket will be the central administrator in this new format. After the success of in Oman, we are bringing the T20 cricket to the Indian subcontinent where cricket is a religion. The new format will be bigger than before with matches across multiple venues in India. The confirmed venues for Season 2 of Legends League Cricket are Delhi, Kolkata, Jodhpur, Cuttack.

In August, 2022 it announced that the new league would honour the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of India’s independence with a special commemorative match between India Maharajas and World Giants. The match will be played on 16 September 2022 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, with former Indian opener Virender Sehwag and World-Cup winning ex-England captain Eoin Morgan leading the respective sides. Earlier BCCI President and ex-India captain Sourav Ganguly was set to lead the team but withdrew from the league citing personal reasons.

The four franchises of this seasons are Bhilwara Kings, India Capitals, Manipal Tigers and Gujarat Giants. New season will be have 15 matches, with the special commemorative match making it a total of 16. Since then, the league has also announced 6 cities across which the new season will be conducted. The Legends League Cricket is all set to kick off with a fierce battle between former India openers when India Capitals’ Gautam Gambhir and Gujarat Giants’ Virender Sehwag will square off against each other to initiate the 20 days long League starting from September 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The action will shift to Lucknow next where in Harbhajan Singh’s Manipal Tigers will take on Irfan Pathan’s Bhilwara Kings on September 18. These four teams who will be playing twice against each other during the 12-match league stage. There will be 4 rest days in between the matches. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will play in the Qualifier at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium in Jodhpur on October 2 with the winner directly advancing to the final to be played on October 5. However, the loser of the Qualifiers will get another bite of the cherry. But they have to fight with the third-placed team on October 3 to clinch a place in the final. The team that finishes fourth after the league stage will be eliminated. All matches are scheduled to kick off at 7:30 pm except the match between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants in New Delhi on September 25 which will have a 4 PM start along with the Qualifier 1 which is slated too for an early start.

This season have more Legends participating than the previous edition. More than 100 ex-international cricketing legends participate in the drafts and all players were be eligible to be picked up by any of the four new franchises as part of their squads for the upcoming season. The LLC Player Draft is a unique event where a roster of such iconic players will be up for a draft process for the first time. Event unique take on the traditional drafting process with emphasis on upholding parity and conducting a fair team selection process, while adding some innovations to incentivize franchises to try different team building strategies.
