Story: Set in Meghalaya, series begin when daredevil police officer Kavya Iyer (Regina Cassandra) and her team nabbing down militants in the dense Tura jungles. She is called ‘Shillong Ki Sherni’ by the people for her successful missions in nabbing the militants. She lives with his mother (Deepika Amin) and perky little son Reyansh (Jihan Hodar).

Chasing militants across the lovely misty landscape, she walks into an ambush and is transferred out in disgrace when several members of her team are killed. Nobody pays attention to her assertion that RDX has been smuggled over the Bangladesh border. As she struggles with career issues, her husband Sameer (Barun Sobti) threatens divorce and demands custody of their son as he feels she is not able to take care of him due to duty.

When a different set of terrorists assassinate the chief minister of Assam in a drone strike, possibly with the smuggled explosives, she is reassigned to the National Investigation Agency led by Mahira Rizvi (Mita Vashisht). Her new boss is initially hostile but once she accepts that Kavya works in her own way and gets results, she warms up to her.

They follow the terrorists’ lead to Jaipur, where another drone attack on a bunch of MLAs takes place and Kavya surmises that there will be more. The terrorist duo is Tariq (Sumeet Vyas) and Thasleena (Gayathrie Shankar) as both radicalized by an unseen uncle and trained in Syria by ISIS along with other misguided Muslim youth.

Will she along with her boss Mahira and chief hacker Chandan Jha (Chandan Roy) be able to stop the fringe elements from carrying out their devious plans?

Positives
1. Excellent Performance
2. Direction
3. Climax
4. Cinematography

Negatives
1. Length
2. Slow Screenplay
3. Unnecessary Sub-plot
4. Story lacks Novelty

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this web-series, planned to watch on premiere day because always loved series with Patriotism flavor.

While defending the nation, fearless IPS officer, Kavya Iyer will stop at nothing. But the threats only get bigger. Will she be able to curb fatal attacks by anti-social groups across the country?

Inspired by true events, this eight-part series as realistic as possible. The story is centered around real heroes in uniform who tirelessly for the betterment of the country. The drama highlights the dedication and selflessness of uniformed officers and their families. The drama’s relentless pace adds to the thrill even as the villain constantly outwits the cops. However, it would have been interesting to learn more about these terrorists’ backgrounds. It would have been easy for the audience to connect. In the first episode, they are introduced at random, with only a few details about them and their mission revealed in the final episode.

It just tries to sell old wine in a new bottle. However, the taste is bland. What disappoints us more is that a celebrated filmmaker like Srijit Mukherji has directed the series, and yet, could think of nothing out of the box. Hence, filmmakers need to think of innovative ideas to make something better than these hit shows. The series is a tribute to the police officers who have lost their lives on duty and ends with the promise of a second season. It could do with some pace and energy. The conviction in the performances, combined with a gripping narrative, ensures that there is never a dull moment in this series. It ended with the promise of a second season. We can only hope that it offers us something extraordinary. My view on this web-series is Recommended only if you are patriotic series lovers.
