Team India scored only 81/8 in their 20 overs. An innings that India would like to wipe out of their memory quickly. They were on the back foot right from the start, losing Dhawan in the very first over. And the young, inexperienced batting line-up failed to handle the spin and guile of the Sri Lankan bowlers. Only three batsmen got into double digits and Kuldeep was the top-scorer, his knock ensuring India went past their lowest T20 total. What’s more disappointing is that there were no demons in the surface, a typical Sri Lankan pitch which had some assistance for the spinners. But credit to the home side as they not only bowled well, their fielding also was top-notch with the skipper leading from the front. Even with Sri Lanka’s faltering batting standards these days, this should be an easy chase. Kuldeep Yadav scored 23* of 28 balls and Bhuvneshwar Kumar scored 16 of 32 balls. For Sri Lanka pick 2 wickets for 29 runs in his 4 overs quota.
Sri Lanka restrict #TeamIndia to 81/8 in the third & final T20I of the series! #SLvIND

Sri Lanka chased down the target successfully by scoring 82/3 in 14.2 overs and won the game by 7 wickets and series by 2-1. Respite for a young, struggling Sri Lankan side. This series win may have come probably against a second or even third-string Indian side, but they will happily take it. The bowlers did the job in particular the birthday boy Wanindu Hasaranga with a four-fer and from then on, it was just a matter of batting out the overs. India didn’t have enough runs on the board, nor did they have the firepower with the ball to do a miracle. Maybe batting first in hindsight was the killer blow. Still better batting would’ve seen a competitive target posted. The series has been mostly played in good spirit. Dhananjaya de Silva scored 23* of 20 balls and Minod Bhanuka scored 18 of 27 balls. For India Rahul Chahar pick 3 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs quota.
#TeamIndia fought hard but Sri Lanka win the T20I series decider by 7 wickets to clinch the series 2-1.
