Team India scored 225/7 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. A massive score by India. It looked ominous for the Irish from ball one on a fine batting wicket with the sun out. Ireland started and finished well and talking about the first 2 and the last 2 overs but in between that, it was carnage. Samson and Hooda put on India’s best-ever T20I stand of 176 and totally demoralised the hosts. The fielding became ragged and boundaries just flew off the bat. Hooda upped his tempo after the fifty and richly deserved his maiden T20I hundred. Also highest score in this format for Samson as that partnership put the attack to the sword. India flexing their muscles and posting a huge score. Ireland need a big effort if they are to come anywhere closer to that total. Deepak Hooda scored 104 runs of 57 balls and Sanju Samson scored 77 runs of 42 balls. For Ireland, Mark Adair pick 2 wickets in his 4 overs quota.
CENTURY for Hooda 💥💥@HoodaOnFire brings up his first century for #TeamIndia in 55 deliveries.

Ireland unable to chased down the target and scored 221/5 in their 20 overs and lost the game by just 4 runs. Umran Malik roars in delight, despair on the faces of the Irish players. Not many would have even backed the Irish team to get close to the target but the hosts had other ideas. In reply, Ireland got off to a flier scoring 65 runs in five overs. The introduction of spin provided the breakthrough as Bishnoi cleaned up Stirling for 40(18). They lost Delany in the very next over but captain kept his team in the hunt with his sixth T20I half-century. Even the skipper’s dismissal didn’t hamper Ireland as they kept coming hard at the Indian bowlers. Tector, Dockrell and Adair ensured that the required rate was never out of reach. With 17 needed, there were a couple of boundaries and a no-ball. But Umran Malik, playing his second T20I, held his nerve and India sneaked home narrowly. Skipper Andrew Balbirnie scored 60 runs of 37 balls and Paul Stirling scored 40 runs of 18 balls. For India, Bhuvi, Bishnoi, Patel and Umran Malik picks 1 wicket each.
