Australia bowled out for 141 runs in 31 overs after batting first. One-way traffic all the way so far, quite like the first innings of the last two games but the difference is that there has been a role reversal. Chakabva won a good toss and his bowlers were on the money from the get-go, making use of what has been a tricky surface. Warner though, didn’t seem to show any discomfort as he motored along to a fluent 90-plus, even as wickets tumbled around him. The fact that only one other batter Maxwell got into double-figures kind of sums up the innings for Australia. The duo’s partnership did promise to revive the innings before Burl entered the scene. He picked up the last five wickets to fall as the hosts’ innings crashlanded in sensational fashion. Now this isn’t an easy pitch to bat on, and Australia have a potent attack but even then, it’s definitely a below-par total and Zimbabwe will fancy their chances. David Warner scored 94 runs of 96 balls and Glenn Maxwell scored 19 runs of 22 balls. For Zimbabwe, Ryan Burl picks 5 wickets for 10 runs in just 3 overs.

Zimbabwe chase down the target successfully by scoring and 142/7 in 39 overs and won the game by 3 wickets. This day will forever be remembered in the annals of Zimbabwe cricket. Their first victory Down Under against Australia and it’s been a fairly convincing performance as well. 142 was always a below-par total and a solid start further cooled the nerves in the Zimbabwe dugout. However, these tricky surfaces and low scores do make for thrills, and that’s exactly what we got. Australia fought hard, as we expect them to and made the visitors sweat hard. At 77/5 with Raza back in the hut, the target looked a far way away. The hosts were buzzing and it required something special to arrest that momentum. Enter Chakabva who played a perfect captain’s knock, soaking all of the pressure in a nuggety unbeaten knock. He didn’t play a single false shot and held one end up, His 38-run stand with Munyonga more or less settled the deal for the visitors. There was a slight jitter towards the very end but as long as Chakabva held fort, you knew he had things under control. Australia will rue their batting performance. They were at-least 50-60 short of a competitive total and paid the price for it. Skipper Regis Chakabva scored 37* of 72 balls and Tadiwanashe Marumani scored 35 runs of 47 balls. For Australia, Josh Hazlewood picks 3 wickets for 30 runs in his 10 overs.
