Darbaan Movie Rating: 2 stars
Just watched Drabaan movie on Zee5 Premium. So let’s analyze the cast, release date, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.
Cast: Sharib Hashmi, Sharad Kelkar, Rasika Dugal, Flora Saini, Harsh Chhaya, Suneeta Sengupta and Yash Mistry
Director: Bipin Nadkarni
Release Date: 4th Dec 2020 on Zee5 Premium
Story: Movie is based on Rabindranath Tagore’s popular story “Khokababur Pratyabartan” of a loyal servant who does the unthinkable act of sacrificing his son in order to keep his master’s family happy.
The story begins in 1971 and is set in the backdrop in Dhanbad. Raicharan (Sharib Hashmi) aka Raichu works as one of the house staff in the wealthy mansion of Naren Tripathi (Harsh Chhaya), who owns a coal business.
The family considers Raichu as one of its own because of the deep bond he has shared with it since his childhood, especially with Naren’s little son Anukool (Sharad Kelkar). But their relationship comes to an abrupt standstill when the government of India takes the coal sector under its control. This forces Naren to sell off his business and mansion and migrate to a far land, leaving Raichand and Anukool dejected.
Raichu come back to village and live his life with his wife Bhuri (Rasika Dugal). Many years later, Anukul returns with a wife, Charul (Flora Saini). He has bought the mansion back and invites Raicharan to join them back. He returns to the haveli and gets instantly attached to Anukul’s little son.
But one day, when Raicharan takes the little one for a walk, the latter vanishes. He feared that little son is dead while the family accuses him of stealing their son because he himself is childless. A few years after, Raicharan becomes a parent and he brings up his own child as though he was serving his master’s son. Eventually, consumed by guilt, he gives up his son to fill the void in his master’s family.
Positives
1. Sharib Hashmi and supporting cast excellent performance
2. Story
3. Music
Negatives
1. Direction
2. Climax
3. Screenplay
4. Boring and stretched
Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer it looks very good and very connecting due to it’s good music and star cast. But unfortunately movie is not that good that I had expected after watching the trailer. First half of the movie is very beautiful and you will never feel bored after last half an hour totally bored and stretched. Poor execution and some unanswered logic and climax will not make you feel good.
Overall it’s not the kind of movie that you will regret after watching it and my final View on this movie Skip It
