In this post, I’m sharing the confirmed list of movies and web series releasing in September 2026 across OTT platforms and cinemas. Last month we had a very a smaller number of releases but in this month, we have good number of releases on both OTT and theatres. Please note that release dates may vary, as the information is based on official announcements from producers and production houses.
Interestingly, many films are now opting for direct digital premieres instead of theatrical releases to avoid box-office clashes. Post-lockdown, OTT platforms have truly become the new cinema halls, giving audiences the freedom to enjoy diverse movies and web series from the comfort of their homes.
With so many anticipated titles lined up, this month promises to be an exciting one for movie and series lovers. Dive into the confirmed list and make sure you don’t miss the most awaited releases!

1. I’m Game (Movie)
Release Date: 3rd September 2026 in Cinemas

2. Gandhari (Movie)
Release Date: 3rd September 2026 on Netflix
Cast: Taapsee Pannu, Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee and Mita Vashisht

Details: A mother loses her young daughter in a busy train station, and a violent attack leaves her unable to see for a while. 3. Mirzapur The Movie (Movie)

4. Jeevan Ya Bheema Con (Movie)
Release Date: 4th September 2026 in Cinemas
Cast: Arshad Warsi, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala and Pooja Chopra
Director: Abhishek Dogra
Details: Jeevan and Yojana come up with a dangerous plan to fake Jeevan’s death and claim a massive life insurance payout using Bheema’s body. But when they discover Bheema’s deep connection to diamond smuggling and dangerous underground criminals, their seemingly perfect scam spirals into pure chaos.
5. Sardar 2 (Movie)
Release Date: 10th September 2026 in Cinemas
Cast: Karthi, Rajisha Vijayan, S. J. Suryah, Malavika Mohanan and Ashika Ranganath

Details: Follows spy Sardar’s origin story in flashback while his son Inspector Vijay confronts a villain known as Black Dagger in the present day.
6. Haiwaan (Movie)

Details: It is the official Hindi remake of Priyadarshan’s acclaimed 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam which revolves around a blind martial artist protects a girl child from a psychopath killer.
7. The Revolutionaries (Web-Series)
Release Date: 11th September 2026 on Prime Video
Cast: Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, Gurfateh Pirzada, Jason Shah, Kashish Saluja, Edward Robinson, Tota Roy Chaudhary, Paoli Dam and Neil Bhoopalam

Details: A cat-and-mouse tale set in the Hindi heartland, where male friendships and rivalries unveil homoerotic tensions. Men on both sides of the law traverse arid lands, creating a sense of place where unexplored histories reside.
9. Waiting Hai (Web-Series)
Release Date: 16th September 2026 on Amazon MX Player
Cast: Divyenndu Sharma, Bhuvan Arora, Harshita Gaur, Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Sunita Rajwar and Yashpal Sharma
Director: Sameer Vidwans
Details: A scam drama based on Tatkal ticketing on Indian Railways, designed as a cat and mouse game between a newly joined Railway Police officer Sugam Mishra, played by Divyenndu and a nerd computer geek, Afroz Hamsa, played by Bhuvan Arora who makes a software to book confirmed tickets by hacking into railway website to impress a pretty girl. When the girl takes the tickets and humiliates him in front of the college, Hamza is left dejected, but his schemer Mama sees a business opportunity in this and together they set up their network of twenty thousand tatkal agents all across the country. Meanwhile, Sugam Mishra, eager to earn respect for himself with Railway Police, sets out to expose the scam.
