In this post, I am sharing the Confirmed list of Movies and Web-Series releasing in September 2021 on OTT and Cinemas. When situation started to seem better and filmmakers decided to release films in theatres, the number of coronavirus cases in the country have started to rise again. This has further compelled makers to rethink releasing their films in theatres. Some of them have already delayed the releases.
Now again situation is getting better and we have good amount of movies releasing in cinemas and OTT together. There are many Hollywood movies are releasing in Hindi language including Bollywood movies.
This is also a biggest release for OTT as well as big films like Black Widow and Bhoot Police will release on OTT. For audiences OTT platforms are like a cinema halls after the lockdown, they are enjoying different contents in form of movies and web-series on different platforms. It is almost certain audiences will get more movies and web-series on OTT due to current situation and they can watch per their choices onwards.
Here I am sharing entire list of movies and web-series releasing this month:
1. Money Heist 5 (Web-Series)
Release date: 3rd September 2021 (Netflix)
Cast: Úrsula Corberó, Álvaro Morte, Alba Flores, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Enrique Arce and María Pedraza
Director: Álex Pina
Details: Set in Madrid, a mysterious man known as “The Professor” recruits a group of eight people, who choose cities for code-names, to carry out an ambitious plan that involves entering the Royal Mint of Spain, and escaping with €1.2 Billion. After taking 67 people hostage inside the Mint, the team plans to remain inside for 11 days to print the money as they deal with elite police forces. In the events succeeding the initial heist, the group are forced out of hiding and find themselves preparing for a second heist, this time on the Bank of Spain, as they again deal with hostages and police forces. The gang has been in the Bank of Spain for over 100 hours and the Professor is at risk. To make matters worse, a new adversary is coming: the army.
2. Black Widow (Movie)

Cast: Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, William Hurt and Rachel Hannah Weisz

3. Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings (Movie)

4. Faactory (Movie)

Details: A heart wrenching tale of love which turn into a maddening obsession which is directed and acted by Aamir Khan younger brother Faissal Khan.
5. F9: The Fast Saga (Movie)
Release date: 3rd September 2021 (In Cinemas)
Cast: Vin Diesel, John Cena, Charlize Theron, Sung Kang, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and Chris Ludacris Bridges

Details: After the events of The Fate of the Furious (2017), Dominic Toretto and his family must face Dominic’s younger brother Jakob, a deadly assassin, who is working with their old enemy Cipher, and who holds a personal vendetta against Dominic.
6. Helmet (Movie)

Cast: Aparshakti Khurana, Pranutan Bahl, Abhishek Banerjee and Sharib Hashmi

Details: The highlight of the upcoming comedy is that it is India’s first film on condoms, and it is a clean entertainer with a sweet message. Lucky and his friends rob an e-commerce company truck, but find condoms instead of electronic gadgets inside. What will Lucky’s next move be?
7. Mumbai Diaries (Web-Series)
Release date: 9th September 2021 (Amazon Prime Video)
Cast: Mohit Raina, Konkona Sen Sharma, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Natasha Bharadwaj, Satyajeet Dubey and Tina Desa
Director: Nikkhil Advani & Nikhil Gonsalves
Details: Series depicts the untold story of doctors, nurses, paramedics, and hospital staff who worked tirelessly to save lives during the terror attacks that ravaged the city on November 26th, 2008.
8. Candy (Web-Series)
Release date: 8th September 2021 (Voot Select)
Cast: Ronit Roy, Richa Chadha, Manu Rishi Chadha, Gopal Datt Tiwari, Nakul Roshan Sahdev and Riddhi Kumar
Director: Ashish R Shukla
Details: Story is about the police officer who is hunting down the murderer of a student in a school located at a small hill station with the help of a teacher and mentor of the victim.
9. Thalaivii (Movie)
Release date: 10th September 2021 (In Cinemas)
Cast: Kangana Ranaut, Arvind Swamy, Prakash Raj, Jisshu U Sengupta and Madhoo Shah
Details: The superstar heroine, the queen of romance and the one who rose to power despite a patriarchal political system. The story we all know, the life story we don’t know.
10. Kya Meri Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai (Movie)
Release date: 10th September 2021 (Zee5 Premium)
Cast: Jassie Gill, Surbhi Jyoti, Vijay Raaz, Bijendra Kala, Atul Shrivastava and Surekha Sikri
Director: Saurabh Tyagi
Details: Movie is based on a real incident where Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai was written on a currency note and it immediately went viral. Set in a small town in Uttar Pradesh, it is about a young man, Sintoo who falls in love with Sonam Gupta, the town’s heartbeat and a girl way out of his league.
11. Bhoot Police (Movie)
Release date: 10th September 2021 (Disney Plus Hotstar VIP)
Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Yami Gautam
Director: Pavan Kirpalani
Details: Movie was earlier scheduled to release on 17th September but today makers have preponed it to 10th September for the release. Story revolves around two duo who are on a mission to catch ghosts through their special van which they modified. Vibhooti is an agnostic and don’t believe in ghost and do this only for greed while Arjun takes it seriously and follow the words written by his ancestors in the book.
12. Mortal Kombat (Movie)
Release date: 11th September 2021 (Amazon Prime Video)
Cast: Lewis Tan, Asano Tadanobu, Mehcad Brooks, Ludi Lin, Chin Han, Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada
Director: Simon McQuoid
Details: It is based on video game franchise of same name created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. 15. Mastero (Movie)

Cast: Nithiin, Tamannah Bhatia, Nabha Natesh, Jissu Sen Gupta, Harsha, Mangli and Racha Ravi

Details: A talented musician who fakes being blind, gets entangled in a web of crime and deceit and what follows is a thrilling laugh riot. Film is official remake of critically acclaimed Bollywood movie Andhadhun.
16. Free Guy (Movie)
Release date: 17th September 2021 (In Cinemas)
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Joe Keery and Taika Waititi
Director: Shawn Levy
Details: In the open world video game Free City, Guy is a non-player character (NPC) working as a bank teller. Thanks to a program developed by programmers Milly and Keys inserted into Free City by the publisher Antoine. Guy becomes aware of his world being a video game, and takes steps to make himself the hero, creating a race against time to save the game before the developers can shut it down.
17. Don’t Breathe 2 (Movie)
Release date: 17th September 2021 (In Cinemas)
Cast: Stephen Lang, Brendan Sexton III and Madelyn Grace
Director: Rodo Sayagues
Details: The sequel is set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang) lives in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.
18. Ankahi Kahaniya (Web-Series)
Release date: 17th September 2021 (Netflix)
Cast: Kunal Kapoor, Zoya Hussain, Rinku Rajguru, Delzad Hiwale and Abhishek Banerjee
Director: Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Saket Chaudhary and Abhishek Chaubey
Details: Cities are a hard place to live in, especially when you’re not in love, looking for love or have gotten your heart broken. Three acclaimed directors of Bollywood take us through winding paths of longing and love.
19. Kota Factory 2 (Web-Series)
Release date: 24th September 2021 (Netflix)
Cast: Jitendra Kumar, Mayur More, Alam Khan, Ahsaas Channa, Ranjan Raj and Revathi Pillai
Director: Raghav Subbu
Details: Story is set in Kota, a hub for many coaching centres where students come from all over India to prepare for various entrance exams. It follows the life of 16-year-old Vaibhav who moves to Kota from Itarsi and shows the life of students in the city, and their efforts to get into IIT.
NOTE: This is complete list of Web-Series and Movies releasing of September finalized till 7th September. There are few in pipelines as well so I will include them in the list once confirmed for release.
Durgesh Tiwary’s View : In my view Black Widow, Helmet and F9 are the movies to watch out for this month because of their content, story and brand.
