In this post, I am sharing the Confirmed list of movies and web-series releasing in August on OTT. As we know due to ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic cinema halls are closed until 31st August as per MHA but it is possible that it may not open in coming months due to increasing cases.
Therefore, for audiences OTT is like a cinema halls, they are enjoying different contents in form of movies and web-series on different platforms and interesting facts is that many films are even clashing on OTT.
Here I am sharing entire list of movies and web-series releasing this month:
1. Bandish Bandits (Web Series)
Release date: 4th Aug (Amazon Prime)
Cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Shreya Chaudhry, Ritwik Bhowmik, Amit Mistry, Sheeba Chaddha
Director: Anand Tiwari
Details: It is story of an Indian classical singer Radhe and pop star Tamanna. Despite their contrasting personalities, the two set out together on a journey of self-discovery to see if opposites, though they might attract, can also adapt and go the long haul.
2. Pareeksha (Movie)
Release date: 6th Aug (Zee5)
Cast: Adil Hussain, Priyanka Bose, Sanjay Suri, Shubham Jha
Director: Prakash Jha
Details: It is inspired by real-life events, the film chronicles the story of a rickshaw puller who aspires to give his son the best possible education.
3. Churails (Web Series)
Release date: 11th Aug (Zee5)
Cast: Serwat Gillani, Mehar Bano, Nimra Bucha, Yasra Rizvi
Director: Asim Abbasi
Details: It is based on Karachi’s secret detectives whose mission is to expose the city’s unfaithful elite husbands.
4. Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (Movie)
Release date: 12th Aug (Netflix)
Cast: Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Vineet Singh

Details: It is based on the real story of Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena who, along with Srividya Rajan, became the first Indian women fighter pilots to venture into a war zone.
5. Khuda Haafiz (Movie)

Details: It is based on real life incident in which newly married couple’s life falls in jeopardy when the wife goes missing under mysterious circumstances.
6. Abhay 2 (Web Series)

Cast: Kunal Kemmu, Ram Kapoor, Chunky Pandey, Asha Negi, Nidhi Singh, Bidita Bag, Raghav Juval

Details: It is sequel of Abhay which was released in 2019 and gutsy Abhay Pratap Singh is back and this time he is up against some sharper and hardened evil masterminds

Details: This film is based on Hussain Zaidi’s book The Class of 83. It is the gritty story of a police officer failed by the system.

Details: According to the sources, the series is closely based on Gurmit Ram Rahim. Soon update the details with trailer.
14. Sadak 2 (Movie)

Cast: Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pooja Bhatt
Director: Mahesh Bhatt
Details: It is sequel of 1991 hit release “Sadak”. Story is about a girl (Alia Bhatt) who lost someone due to Fake Guru’s and how Sanjay dutt is helping her till the end.
15. Bebaakee (Web Series)
Release date: 30th Aug (Alt Balaji,Zee5)
Cast: Kushal Tandon, Karan Jotwani, Shivjyoti Rajput
Director: Muzammil Desai
Details: Pyaar mein koi hadd nahi hoti; woh bas ek junoon hota hai. Par aisa ishq kar paana har ek ke bass ki baat nahin. Kya Kainaat, Sufiyaan ke bebaak ishq ki qadar kar paayegi?
Durgesh Tiwary’s View : In my view Pareeksha, Aashram Gunjan Saxena, Khuda Haafiz and Class of 83 are the movies to watch out for in this month as they are based on real life incidents and I am really excited for them.
Due to death of Sushant Singh Rajput a large section of people are backlashing Janhvi Kapoor for nepotism but I still request to them to watch this to honor the bravery of Gunajn Saxena Ji.
In web series I would suggest to prefer Abhay 2 (Thrilling and intriguing trailer and Kunal Kemmu acting) and Aashram for
real content as directed by Prakash Jha.
