Cash Review: Interesting concept on demonetization but fails to impress after good first half
Cash Movie Rating: 2 Stars

Just watched Cash movie on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP. So let’s focus on the cast, release date story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Cast: Amol Parashar, Kavin Dave, Gulshan Grover, Swanand Kirkire, Smriti Kalra and Pawan Chopra
Director: Rishabh Seth
Release Date: 19th November 2021 on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP

Story: Arman Gulati (Amol Parashar) is a middle class boy and the paidaishi CEO, whose entrepreneurial spirit is never dampened by his botched up new business plans. He wants to make it big in life through his convoluted business schemes but hasn’t found success yet. His partner-in-crime is his best friend Vivek (Kavin Dave) who is an accountant by mind and an andh bhakt of all bhagwans by heart.

Together, they conjure up a massive money making scheme to fix crores of black money after PM Modi declares demonetization in the nation. Armaan takes on an impossible task to launder 5 crores of black money in less than 52 days before the banks stop accepting old notes from his uncle. But they find themselves in a mess as the source of this black money is a struggling politician Gautam Acharya’s (Gulshan Grover) ill-earned income.

Now with the help of fellow hustler and future soulmate Neha (Smriti Kalra) and masochistic goon Qazi (Krishna Singh Bisht) succeed in converting the banned currency or end up behind bars as overzealous police officer Tukaram (Anand Alkunte) is after all the men who are having black money.

Positives
1. Performances
2. Story
3. First half

Negatives

2. Length
3. Screenplay
4. Music

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in my free time because trailer looks quirky and good.

Two friends hustling from one failed startup to another chance upon a lucrative idea of making black money white when demonetization hits in India. Will their brand new business bring profits or pain?

Cash is a comic caper that aims to cash in on demonetization, but is several years too late. The film would’ve been more relevant and maybe well-received had it released in 2017. Alternatively, the stale plot could have worked if the screenplay was extremely well-written and uproarious funny. This movie can be described as an average comedy that starts off well, lags desperately in the middle, and then never gets a chance to recover in the later stages. Overall it is a refreshing take on a serious event that had deep repercussions on the economy. My view on this movie Time Pass.
