Blurr Movie Rating: 1.5 Stars
Finally watched Blurr movie on Zee5 Premium. Let’s focus on the complete details, story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.
Cast: Taapsee Pannu, Gulshan Devaiah and Abhilash Thapliyal
Director: Ajay Bahl
Release Date: 9th December 2022 on Zee5 Premium
Story: Movie is official remake of Julia’s Eyes which is the story of a woman investigating the death of her sister. Gautami (Taapsee Pannu) is a blind woman who resides alone in Nainital in her house. She is tormented by the presence of someone in her house. She is about to hang herself but then changes her mind. At this point, the intruder kicks the stool beneath, due to which Gautami dies.
Her twin sister Gayatri (Taapsee Pannu) who is based in Delhi with her husband Neil (Gulshan Devaiah) reaches Nainital after the former gets a feeling that Gautami is not fine. Though the cops rule out any foul play and conclude that Gautami was depressed after losing her eyesight and hence took her own life, Gayatri refuses to believe it.
She also feels the presence of someone in Gautami’s house and wherever she goes and concludes that he is out to kill her as he must have murdered her sister too. She finds clues that lead her to believe that Gautami was not alone when she died. Upon enquiries, she learns that Gautami had a boyfriend. She also realizes that she’s being followed but Neil and even the investigating inspector Chandel (Sumit Nijhawan) refuse to acknowledge it.
Soon, Gayatri falls in trouble and on top of that she realizes that even she will lose her eyesight soon just like Gautami. During her investigation Neil is also killed. Will Gayatri able to find the culprit is all about this movie.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in my free time as it looks very mediocre. After watching this film, I was right as movie is dull in almost every aspect.
The story is about one woman, Gayatri, finding about the untimely death of her twin sister, who was visually impaired. She then tries to uncover the mystery behind the death while struggling with her own eyesight.
Blurr story has a lot of interesting elements that can make for an intriguing thriller. Screenplay is a big culprit here as it is not consistent. Though a few scenes are startling, the writing has too many loose ends, which dilute the impact. The movie’s first half is extremely taut and will scare you stiff on many occasions. For instance, there’s a petrifying scene at a wellness centre where Gayatri has a run-in with a group of blind women who are unaware of her presence but sense stranger danger and catch her. Gayatri’s experience after discovering an uncomfortable truth about Gautami or the scene in an empty parking lot when she gets a crucial clue will also send a chill down your spine.
The major drawback is that there are no happy characters in the drama. Several characters behave weirdly for no real reason. Even the suspense is so convoluted that its revelation hardly affords the thrill it should have. Unless you are given a fair chance of guessing who the culprit is, it doesn’t give them satisfaction. In this case, you don’t realize that they could never have guessed the identity of the culprit, and this feeling is very counter-productive to the film. Besides, the drama appears long and boring. Overall, the film hardly has a happy moment and is, in fact, depressing to the core, the heavy rains and the darkness only adding to the depressing feel of the film.
Direction is also not up to the mark. Only gracing point in the film is its performances and climax which is suspenseful and blood-curdling and will keep you piqued. Overall, movie has only few thrilling moments and rest does not add up anything to this pathetic thriller. After a long time watch a poor film by Taapsee and her beginning as producer is not good. My view on this movie Not Recommended
