BCCI announced the complete schedule of Tata IPL 2022 which will be held in Mumbai and Pune. A total number of 70 league matches and 4 Playoff games will be played in the duration of 65 days. The 15th season will start on 26th March at the Wankhede stadium with a blockbuster clash between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
March 28 will mark the first appearance of IPL newcomers Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, who take on each other at the Wankhede stadium. On 27th March, the league will stage its first double-header starting off with a Day game at Brabourne where the Delhi Capitals will square off against Mumbai Indians. The DY Patil Stadium will host the clash between Punjab Kings & Royal Challengers Bangalore at night.
There is set to be a total of 12 double header days, with six double-headers on Saturdays and six on Sundays. The MCA Stadium in Pune will host its first game on 29th March when Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Rajasthan Royals. In all, 20 matches each will be held at Wankhede Stadium & DY Patil Stadium, 15 matches each at Brabourne and MCA International stadium, Pune.

The penultimate league game is set to be held on May 21, featuring Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede stadium. The final league game will be played at the same venue on May 22, with Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Punjab Kings. The schedule for the Playoffs and the TATA IPL 2022 final to be played on 29th May will be announced later.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants take on each other in their respective final games, set to be played on May 18 at the DY Patil stadium. Royal Challengers and Gujarat Titans will face off on May 19 at the Wankhede stadium in what will be the last league game for both of these sides. Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings play their last league game against each other at the Braboune stadium on May 20.
The Wankhede stadium and the DY Patil stadium will host 20 matches each during the league stage, while the Braboune stadium and the MCA stadium in Pune will play host for 15 matches apiece. The schedule for 58 days and 70 games, starting from March 26 to May 22 has been announced while the itinerary for the play-offs has not yet been shared with the teams. It is likely that the business end of the competition will start on May 24 and will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which will also host the final on May 29.
As per the schedule, Mumbai Indians will play four games at the Wankhede stadium – vs Lucknow Super Giants on April 24, Chennai Super Kings on May 12, Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 17 and Delhi Capitals on May 21. It was reported that some of the franchises had objected to Mumbai Indians playing at the Wankhede, with no other team getting to play at their traditional home ground. But the BCCI has equally distributed the games to all 10 teams among the four grounds. Here is the complete schedule of this game.
