Story: The film story follows a couple whose love story spans 23 years from 2000 to 2023. Set in 200 movie revolves around Young Krishna (Shantanu Maheshwari) and Vashudha (Saiee Manjrekar) who are living in a Mumbai chawl named Ekta Niwas. They’re poor but happy and their interest in each other is known to all. They also soon get into a relationship and promise to marry each other and have a great life ahead.
Krishna is yet trying to make a career and towards that, he is keen to go to Germany for a while. Vasudha wants to achieve something in life and also wants to settle her younger brother and sister by partly bearing their education expenses rather than letting her father bear the entire financial burden.
With the passage of time, the two become so inseparable that one just cannot imagine the one without the other. Things for the couple change drastically when Krishna saves his elderly Parsi friend from being robbed and stabbed by a bunch of henchmen. Krishna lands up recognizing one of the robbers as Pakya (Hardik Soni) who is his notorious neighbor who also lives in the same society. He does confront Pakya the next day which gets seen by many in the society due to which he vows to take revenge.
Seizing an opportunity, he and his group of evil-minded friends land up taking advantage of the late-night hours and drag Vasudha to a secluded place and try to molest her. Hearing her screams, Krishna rushes back to save the love of his life from the evil hands. In an attempt to save her, he lands up killing two of the men. It is because of these two murders he gets sentenced to an imprisonment of 25 years.
When Krishna (Ajay Devgn) completes 23 years in jail in 2024, the officials decide to release him due to his good behavior. Krishna, however, feels that he’s not ready for the outside world and requests the officials to cancel his early release. His unusual request is rejected, and Krishna is released. He plans to leave the country the same night but before that can happen, Krishna meets Vasudha (Tabu) who is now married to Abhijeet (Jimmy Shergill). What happens thereafter? Do sparks fly? Has Vasudha moved on? Is Krishna keen to unite with her? Or are they able to get over one another?

Durgesh Tiwary’s View: When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie in cinemas as liked the trailer and big fan of Ajay Devgn and Neeraj Pandey movies.
The film story follows a couple whose love story spans 23 years from 2000 to 2023, delving into the emotional depth and evolving dynamics of their relationship over two decades. Krishna gets involved in multiple murders and is sentenced to life imprisonment. This leads to Vasudha getting separated from him and marrying Abhijeet. After 22 years when Krishna is released from prison after getting pardon, he yearns to meet Vasudha. It culminates in one final meeting between Krishna and Vasudha.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha has an unusual love story that spans twenty-two years. Plot stands as a testimony to the fact that if the need be, then, lovers can push themselves to any limit, challenge and eliminate any roadblock which come in their way. With an old-fashioned appeal to it, especially when it comes to romance and moments shared between the lead actors, it maintains a certain pace right through its duration. The second half is better though and especially picks up when Krishna meets Abhijeet and multiple flashback incidents are narrated and re-narrated. The dialogues are simply excellent here, especially in the finale is really gut wrenching. You feel for the characters here, and background score only elevates that further. Films editing could just have been a bit more watertight. What works in the film’s favor is the ‘tried-and-tested’ onscreen chemistry between Ajay Devgn and Tabu. Additionally, the utmost sincere performance of Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar simply acts as an icing on the cake.
On the flipside, the narrative doesn’t stick to the storyline as a result leaving the audience confused with the flashback switch turning on and off frequently. Making a slow start it failed to pull the audience’s attention towards the tale that turned out to be dull. Surprisingly it has repetitive scenes that are tedious, monotonous, and unrequired. Being a love thriller saga, it lacks action and thrill when needed. Neeraj Pandey known for action thrillers tapped on romance dramas for the first time and unfortunately, he failed to maintain his directorial power. Such a poor work was unexpected from the filmmaker who delivered critically acclaimed movies in the past. The major twist and the crime’s revelation are predictable and have nothing new to offer.
Overall, this is not a film for everyone but those who believe in old fashioned emotion of lifelong love, then this one would appeal well. While the actors have performed well, the film needed a more trimmed and pacy screenplay. Compared with director Neeraj Pandey’s action thrillers, this film falls short. My view on this movie Time Pass for Ajay Devgn fans and all those who are in love or are planning to fall in love.
