Antim Review: Power packed gangster drama with excellent background music
Antim Movie Rating: 3.5 Stars

Finally watched Antim movie in Cinemas. So let’s focus on the cast, release date story, positive/negatives and at last my personal view on this movie.

Cast: Salman Khan, Aayush Sharma, Mahesh Manjrejkar, Sachin Khedekar, Nikitin Dheer, Jisshu Sengupta and Mahima Makwana
Director: Mahesh Manjrekar
Release Date: 26th November 2021 in Cinemas

Story: It starts with Inspector Rajveer Singh’s (Salman Khan) voiceover throwing light on how many farmers were forced to sell their land at cheap prices to people with influence and power. One such farmer is Sakharam Patil (Sachin Khedekar) who loses the job of working on his own farm which he sold to a rich businessman Shinde (Uday Tikekar).

The family then moves to Pune where Datta Pehelwan including his wife, Son Rahul (Aayush Sharma) and daughter Seema (Siddhi Dalvi)starts working as a porter in the vegetable market. The goons of the local corporator Salvi (Vijay Nikam) demand hafta from all the porters and one of porter Satya (Mahesh Manjrekar) refused to pay and then goons beat him up and Rahul and his friend Ganya (Rohit Haldikar) attacks them but get arrested.

Rajveer tells Rahul to not break the law as it can cause problems to his family while they are in jail. In prison Rahul meets Nanya Bhai (Upendra Limaye) and started to work with him. While working with him he killed Salvi and does other crimes as well. One day Satya inform him that it was Nanya Bhai who compelled his father to sell his land at a rate below the market price and rape her sister. At the same time MLA Ambir (Sharad Ponkshe) tells Rahul to finish Nanya and Rahul killer him and become Rahuliya.

There is a love angle of Rahul with Satya daughter Nanda (Mahima Makwana). What happen to their love story and what happens when Rajveer got to know everything. There are two gangsters Daya (Nikitin Dheer) and Pitya (Jisshu Sengupta) are againt Rahuliya. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Positives
1. Excellent Performances
2. Screenplay
3. First half
4. Climax
5. Background Music

Negatives
1. Story lacks novelty
2. Music
3. 2nd half could have been better

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : When I watched the trailer of this film planned to watch this movie on its release date because I am big fan of Salman Khan and trailer of this movie was excellent.

Antim is the official remake of the 2018 Marathi film Mulshi Pattern and its story touches upon some important issues like land mafia, migration of rural population and their exploitation in urban areas, etc. Screenplay is decent in the first half but is unexciting in the second half at some places. The first half is engaging and one expects the film will turn to be a great fare in the second half, especially after Rajveer and Rahul’s fight at the interval point. Sadly, the film goes downhill after the interval but climax was excellent. My view on this movie Highly Recommended.
