Two change in RR team and they included Andrew Tye and Varun Aaron in place of Ankit Rajpoot and Tom Curran. Ben Stokes will return from next game which is good news for team.
Four foreign players of DC for this game was Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortjé. No changes in DC playing XI.
Delhi Capitals scores 184/8 in their 20 overs and they should feel satisfied with this total as they lost early wickets in power plays but crucial knocks by Stoinis and Hetmyer have helped them to reach a respectable total though this is first time batting first team unable to score 200+ runs on this ground. Shimron Hetmyer scored 45 of 24 balls and Marcus Stoinis scored 39 of 30 balls. For RR Jofra Archer picks 3 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs quota.
Rajasthan Royals started off very poorly and lose wickets without scoring runs. Jaiswal just not able to get a move on from one end but from other end team was losing wickets and in last Tewatia swinged his bat around but it was sufficient and team all out for 136 runs in 19.4 over and lose the game by 46 runs. Rahul Tewatia scored 38 runs 29 balls and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 34 in 36 balls. For RR Kagiso Rabada picks 3 wickets for 35 runs in 3.4 overs.
DC: 184/8 in 20 overs
RR: 138 all out in 19.4 overs
Result: Delhi Capitals won by 46 runs
Man of the Match: Ravichandran Ashwin
Durgesh Tiwary’s View : First of congratulations to DC for their consecutive wins and become top in the points table. Team is showing a complete team effort should be. Today top and middle order batsmen unable to score runs but Hetymer played brilliant knock and good support by Stoinis and Axar in the end. But again, lest we forget, it’s Delhi’s bowlers who’ll take credit tonight for this one. Ashwin and Axar once again choked up the middle overs, expertly playing around with RR’s
Rajasthan Royals top order batsmen fails today as well and no any batsmen play the knocks required in the run chase. After first 2 games of Sharjah batsmen not able to perform and this is reason for RR consecutive losses.
Ben stokes is joining team from next game and that will sure boost the confidence for team as he can perform with both bat and ball but it seems too late for them as they need to win at least 6 games out of 8 to qualify for the play offs.
