Kolkata Knight Riders started off well very well despite losing the wicket of Shubman Gill. They changed their combination at the top of the order and that strategy seemed to have worked wonders in the first half of the innings as Rahul Tripathi played exceptionally well and despite losing wickets in flurry KKR able score 167 in their 20 overs which seems good for this ground. Rahul Tripathi scored 81 of 51 balls and Pat Cummins scored 17* of 9 balls. For CSK DJ Bravo picks 3 wickets for 37 runs in his 4 overs quota.
Chennai Super Kings started off very well and they were 90/1, bossing the chase at the halfway mark with Watson and Rayudu looking fluent at the crease. But then suffered an incredible slowdown after losing the two of them in back-to-back overs and only able to score 157/5 in their 20 overs and lose the game by 10 runs. Shane Watson scored 50 runs 40 balls and Ambati Rayudu scored 30 in 27 balls. For KKR Mavi, Nagarkoti, Chakravarty, Narine and Russell picks 1 wicket each.

Durgesh Tiwary’s View : First of congratulations to KKR for their clinical win. Today they have taken good decision and sent Rahul Tripathi as a opener that works in their favor and he was main reason for their win today. Good bowling KKR bowlers in 2nd half of the game after giving plenty of runs. All in all sterling job by team especially by spin duo of Narine and Chakravarthy.
CSK middle-order has been a huge concern in this tournament. It was all well and good when the two openers finished off the chase against KXIP in the previous match. But today, they needed contributions in the middle. That didn’t happen. And so once again, a run chase has gone terribly wrong. Only openers and Rayudu have scored runs and rest of middle orders batsmen unable to perform. They really need support from middle order batsmen in order to qualify for play-offs which is looking tough for them.
