Mumbai Indians scored 155/7 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. As per the meme lingo, Mukesh Choudhary came out of syllabus. MI were rocked early as Mukesh scalped Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma for ducks in the first over of the game. Then Brevis also couldn’t handle the southpaw as he completed a fairytale three-fer. SKY did bat with freedom but his innings was cut short by Santner. Hrithik Shokeen did give a good account of himself but couldn’t kick on. MI though added a few quick runs owing to some sloppy fielding from CSK and sensible batting from Tilak Varma to end up with a 150 plus score. 99 from the last 10 overs might turn out to be decisive. Tilak Varma scored 51* runs of 43 balls and Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 runs of 21 balls. For CSK, Mukesh Choudhary pick 3 wickets for 19 runs in his 3 overs.
Innings Break!
Three wickets for Mukesh Choudhary as #CSK restrict #MumbaiIndians to a total of 155/7 on the board.

Chennai Super Kings successfully chased the target by scoring 156/7 in their 20th overs and won the game by 3 wickets. What a game! Gee, these MI-CSK games are nail-biting to the core, testing our heartbeats every single time. 155 seemed under-par at the break, despite the two-paced nature of the surface but MI’s new-look bowling punched well above their weight, right from the start with wickets at regular intervals. CSK never really had that momentum in the run chase. The only batters to get set, Uthappa and Rayudu, didn’t find the proper tempo either, and after their wickets, it seemed like MI were squeezing their way to their first-ever win of the season. 42 off 18, became 28 off 12 but Bumrah did well to give Unadkat 16 to defend in the final over. But like a famous man once said ‘When you have to bowl to MS Dhoni in the final over, the pressure isn’t on him, it’s on you’. To be honest, he didn’t really look to be in his most flamboyant touch today, but there is no replacement for experience, is there? Stood calm and when Unadkat wilted under pressure, the finisher made him pay. Ambati Rayudu scored 40 runs of 35 balls and Robin Uthappa score 30 runs of 25 balls. For MI, Daniel Sams pick 4 wickets for 30 runs in his 4 overs quota.
Nobody finishes cricket matches like him and yet again MS Dhoni 28* (13) shows why he is the best finisher. A four off the final ball to take @ChennaiIPL home.

Stats
– Mumbai Indians 19 – 13 Chennai Super Kings
– Teams batting first have scored 170+ in 17 matches of which they ended up winning 12. Of the five times 170+ totals were successfully chased down, four have come at one venue Brabourne.
– CSK have lost five out of the six matches so far and the only other time it happened for them (two overlapping sequences in 2020) in a season they failed to make it to the Play-Offs. If they lose to MI on Thursday, it will be the first time they would have lost six games in a sequence of seven matches.
– Six matches lost by MI in 2022 is already their longest losing streak in IPL and no team has started off an IPL season losing their first seven matches. The only other instances a team lost six matches at the start of a season they ended up bottom of the table (DD in 2013 and RCB in 2019). So like CSK, MI will also be looking to avoid a new low when they take on CSK on Thursday.
– 14th time Rohit Sharma has been dismissed for a duck in IPl is the most for a player Rahane, Parthiv, Rayudu, Mandeep, Harbhajan and Piyush Chawla all have 13 ducks each
