DC beat PBKS by 9 wickets in IPL 2022-cricketmovie.com

Tata IPL: DC registered biggest win in the history of the IPL in terms of balls to spare in a chase of 100+ runs against PBKS in 32nd game of IPL 2022. They beat Punjab by 9 wickets with 57 balls spare. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

32nd game (Delhi Capitals Vs Punjab Kings)
Game Date: 20th April 2022
Details:
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 32nd game of IPL 2022 against Punjab Kings at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. DC made 1 forced change and included Sarfaraz Khan in the place of Mitchell Marsh while PBKS has 1 change as well and Nathan Ellis comes in for Odean Smith.

Punjab Kings bowled out for just 115 runs in their 20 overs after batting first. At 33/0 after 3.3 overs, if you had told DC that they will be chasing 116, they would’ve bitten your hands off and much more. Shambolic batting from PBKS after the openers were dismissed. Livingstone ran down and missed, Bairstow found fine-leg and then the innings just collapsed after Jitesh Sharma‘s wicket. Jitesh batted well but took a risk against Axar which did not pay off. A field day for both Axar and Kuldeep against the clueless lower middle-order of PBKS. Eventually they hobble to 115. Should be a piece of cake this chase for DC. Jitesh Sharma scored 32 runs of 23 balls and Skipper Mayank Agarwal scored 24 runs of 15 balls. For DC, Kuldeep, Axar, Khaleel and Lalit Yadav pick 2 wickets each.

Delhi Capitals successfully chased the target by scoring 119/1 in their 11th overs and won the game by 9 wickets. The fate of this match was decided in the first innings itself. 115 was never going to challenge this DC side. The only way for PBKS to make a match of it was by picking few early wickets but instead it was carnage from Shaw and Warner. The pair recorded their fourth consecutive 50+ opening stand and brought up that landmark in just 3.3 overs. The buck didn’t stop there as they raced to 81 in the powerplay, making it the highest for the season. After that it was a mere formality as they chased down the total in 10.3 overs and boosted their NRR. Early on, Punjab Kings’ go-all-guns-blazing approach backfired spectacularly as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and couldn’t get to a respectable total. In hindsight, with the kind of mood the Delhi openers were in, no score might have been enough. David Warner scored 60* runs of 30 balls and Prithvi Shaw score 41 runs of 20 balls. For PBKS, Rahul Chahar picks only wicket of DC.

PBKS: 115 all out in 20 overs
DC: 119/1 in 10.3 overs

Result: Delhi Capitals won by 9 wickets
Man of the Match: Kuldeep Yadav
