Chennai Super Kings scored 216/4 in their 20 overs after batting first. That was one heck of an innings from CSK. The powerplay was so drab that it made CSK fans lose all hopes on the season, but enter Shivam Dube. RCB’s reading of the pitch was it is dry so it will turn, but Dube and Uthappa loved pace off the ball and smacked the bowlers at will. 10 overs CSK were 60/2 and a well below-par total loomed large but then came one of the finest onslaughts you will see in this league. They smashed 156 runs in the last 10 overs. RCB were without Harshal and they were scrambling for bowlers at the end. It didn’t matter who bowled as Uthappa used his crease to great effect to hit sixes, while Dube hit all slot balls cleanly. Massive credit to Dube because he started the counterattack. Massive credit to Uthappa because he held fort and then hit top gear to stun the opposition. Both former RCB players doing it in style to put on a record partnership. 216 is definitely above par, but RCB do have a good batting line-up and CSK have had inexperience in their bowling. But unlike the other day against LSG, the dew doesn’t seem to be a problem as of now. All up to RCB now to take this deep. Shivam Dube scored 95* runs of 46 balls and Robin Uthappa scored 88 runs of 50 balls. For RCB, Wanindu Hasaranga pick 2 wickets for 35 runs in 3 overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore unable to chased the scored 193/9 in 20 overs and lost the game by 23 runs. Coming into this match on the back of four successive losses, CSK were forced to bat and they didn’t get off to an auspicious start as they managed to score just 60 runs in the first ten overs. However, the 165-run stand between Uthappa and Dube powered them to 216. In reply, RCB lost their top-three inside the powerplay. Maxwell came out all guns blazing but fell victim to his nemesis Jadeja once again (7th time in T20s). At 50/4, RCB were staring down the barrel and that’s when the duo of Suyash Prabhudessai and Shahbaz Ahmed stitched a half-ton partnership scoring at a brisk pace. Maheesh Theekshana, who accounted for the openers, came back to remove both the set batters. Dinesh Karthik scored a quickfire 34 but RCB’s teeny-tiny hopes were extinguished once he was dismissed. A game to forget for RCB, especially with the ball. CSK, on the other hand, will be a relieved unit.Shahbaz Ahmed scored 41 runs of 27 balls and Dinesh Karthik score 34 runs of 14 balls. For CSK, Maheesh Theekshana pick 4 wickets for 33 runs in his 4 overs quota.
