DC beat KKR by 44 runs in IPL 2022-cricketmovie.com

Tata IPL: DC beat KKR by 44 runs in the 19th game of IPL 2022. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

19th game (Delhi Capitals Vs Kolkata Knight Riders)
Game Date: 10th April 2022
Details:
Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf Du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first in the 18th game of IPL 2022 against Mumbai Indians at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. No change in KKR playing XI while DC included Khaleel Ahmed in the place of Anrich Nortje.

Delhi Capitals scored 215/5 in their 20 overs after batting first. KKR will be deflated after those last two overs. They would have wanted to keep the score to less than 200 but Shardul and Axar had other ideas. 39 runs off the last 12 balls, with Umesh and Cummins going the distance. It meant that DC ended with a score which they would have been eyeing when their set batters were around. Warner and Shaw set the tone, while Pant continued the onslaught to decimate the KKR bowlers. Only Narine held his own, while the others all got belted around. However, they did stage a mini fight-back when DC fell from 148/1 to 166/5 with 20 balls still left. Sarfaraz Khan was strangely not used even when the fifth wicket felt, but in hindsight, that worked perfectly for Delhi as Axar and Shardul provided the perfect finish. It is a strong total, because despite being a nice batting track, the odd slower ball is sticking on a tad. Interesting to see how KKR bat on this. David Warner scored 61 runs of 45 balls and Prithvi Shaw scored 51 runs of 29 balls. For KKR, Sunil Narine pick 2 wickets for 21 runs in his 4 overs quota.

Kolkata Knight Riders unable to chased the target and bowled out for 171 runs in 20th over and lost the game by 44 runs. To sum it up, the first innings was the decider. Chasing 216 would have needed at least a couple of blinders. Kolkata didn’t have any. They started off with Rahane being given out twice off consecutive deliveries, to review on both occasions and survive, nick off the third ball, and not get appealed against. But that is the only share of luck they enjoyed. For everything after that, was just downhill. The two Iyers threw their bats around, Shreyas went on to get a fifty, Rana struck a few big ones as well. But none of them could it for long. Khaleel drew early blood. Kuldeep spun a web in the middle-overs and made a real statement against his former team and Thakur applied the finishing touches. Skipper Shreyas Iyer scored 54 runs of 33 balls and Nitish Rana score 30 runs of 20 balls. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav pick 4 wickets for 35 runs in his 4 overs quota.
