Vivo IPL: MI beat RR by 8 wickets in the 51st game of IPL 2021 and keep their chances alive at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. Now I will share the details of this IPL game match in my way.

51st Game (Mumbai Indians Vs Rajasthan Royals)
Game Date: 5th October 2021
Details:
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first in the 51st game of IPL 2021 against Rajasthan Royals. Two changes in their playing XI and they have included James Neesham and Ishan Kishan in the place of Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya. Their four foreign players of this game are Kieron Pollard, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Trent Boult and James Neesham.

Two changes in RR playing XI as well and they have included Shreyas Gopal and Kuldip Singh in the place of Mayank Markande and Akash Singh. Their four foreign players of this game are Evin Lewis, Glenn Phillips, David Miller and Mustafizur Rahman..

Rajasthan Royals scored only 90/9 in their 20 overs. This is the lowest score for a team batting first at Sharjah. RR batting performance is a combination of a few things. Yes, the wicket has been slow and two-paced here but today it stayed low as well. However, the batters should have adjusted or learnt from how their peers were dismissed, they didn’t as most of them got out playing the cross-batted shot. Credit to Mumbai Indians as they picked the team as per the surface especially Neesham and he delivered. The trio of Neesham, NCN and Bumrah picked 9 for 40 in 12 overs. It might be a difficult pitch but surely for this score. Evin Lewis scored 24 of 19 balls and David Miller scored 15 of 23 balls. For MI Nathan Coulter-Nile pick 4 wickets for just 14 runs in his 4 overs.

Mumbai Indians successfully chased down the target by scoring 94/2 in 8.2 overs and won the game 8 wickets. It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves. MI so believe in this. It wasn’t a typical Shakespearean drama though as all of it happened so very quickly. Who writes the script for them? They treat the IPL like a marathon and pip others mostly at the last lap. That last bend of the last lap has begun. And MI are picking up their pace. Their NRR has had a facelift. A cosmetic one delivered by their bowlers and Kishan. They added Neesham at the expense of QDK for this game. One might have had a smirk at the choice made. But Neesham returned with figures of 4-0-12-3. NCN was more than an able ally as he accounted for four wickets and Bumrah chipped in with a couple as well. Kishan was brought back and he was on fire. A 25-ball 50 ensured the chase was just as how they imagined at the half way mark. MI go up to fifth in the points table. RR had their destiny in their own hands but not anymore. Their NRR and chances have had a traumatic experience today. Ishan Kishan scored 50* of 25 balls and skipper Rohit Sharma scored 22 of 13 balls. For RR Sakariya and Rahman picks 1 wicket each.
